Fire in central Hanoi building

At around 2:10 p.m. on April 18, a fire broke out from the air conditioner's condenser near the foot of the Viet Tower building at 1 Thai Ha, Trung Liet Ward, Dong Da District. The fire spread to the floors along the panels and the air conditioner's condenser outside the building.

Hundreds of people from offices inside the building fled down the stairs.

Smoke billowed, engulfing the entire area. Some residents in the alley behind the building had to evacuate their belongings and used mini fire extinguishers to put out the fire, but were unsuccessful.

Six fire engines and an ambulance were dispatched to the scene. According to some witnesses, some people were taken out suffering from smoke inhalation.

By 3:30 p.m., the fire had been extinguished. Police are still spraying water to cool the area and investigating the cause of the fire.

Viet Tower, also known as Parkson Thai Ha, is an office building located at the intersection of Thai Ha, Chua Boc, and Tay Son streets. The beautiful location and convenient traffic make many businesses and restaurants rent space here to do business.
