Forest fire in Kim Bang (Ha Nam) does not affect the national power transmission system

(Chinhphu.vn)- The National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) said that the forest fire in Kim Bang (Ha Nam) did not affect the safety of the national power transmission system.

Information from EVNNPT, on the afternoon of April 16, 2025, in the area near the corridor of column 71-73 (design number 70-72) of the 500kV Nho Quan-Thuong Tin line, a forest fire broke out in the area bordering Chi Ne town, Hoa Binh province and Kim Bang town, Ha Nam province.

Immediately after receiving information about the fire, Ninh Binh Power Transmission (Power Transmission Company 1) deployed response and fire fighting work to ensure the safe operation of the 500kV Nho Quan - Thuong Tin line.

Mr. Vu Van Loc, Director of Ninh Binh Power Transmission, said: At 4:50 p.m. on April 16, 2025, according to the report from the 500kV line protection force, a forest fire broke out in Chi Ne town, Lac Thuy district, Hoa Binh province and in Ba Sao ward, Kim Bang town, Ha Nam province near poles 71-73 of the Nho Quan- Thuong Tin 500kV line (about 300m - 500m from the line).

Due to dry weather and strong winds, the fire spread quickly and burned over a large area from the mountain area under the management of Chi Ne town, Lac Thuy district, Hoa Binh province to the mountain area under the management of Ba Sao ward, Kim Bang town, Ha Nam province.

The fire tends to spread quickly into the 500kV Nho Quan-Thuong Tin transmission line corridor and surrounding areas.

After receiving the news, Ninh Binh Power Transmission mobilized all forces of the Technical Department, General Department, Nho Quan Power Transmission Team and fire fighting equipment (saws, line knives, generators, flashlights...) to move to the scene to participate in fire fighting.

The unit has reported to the leaders of Power Transmission Company 1 and the Company's functional departments for instructions; regularly contacted B01 dispatcher about the developments and situation of the fire, if there is a risk of causing unsafety to the 500kV Nho Quan - Thuong Tin line to have a plan to request a power cut.

At 6:00 p.m. the same day, the unit's fire fighting force was present at the scene to coordinate with the functional forces of Ha Nam province, the Military Command of Ha Nam province, the Ha Nam Provincial Police, the Forest Ranger force, the militia and self-defense forces and the people to cordon off the area to create a runway to prevent the forest fire from spreading, not to affect people's property and especially to ensure the safe operation of the 500kV Nho Quan - Thuong Tin line.

Under the direct direction of the Provincial Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Nam province and the coordination and efforts of all participating forces, the forest trees were cleared to create a runway of about 5m along the 500kV Nho Quan - Thuong Tin line corridor to separate the fire from spreading to the line to ensure safe operation of the 500kV Nho Quan - Thuong Tin line and prevent the fire from spreading to surrounding areas.

By about 01:00 on April 17, 2025, the fire had been basically contained so as not to affect people's property and the safety of the 500kV Nho Quan - Thuong Tin Line.

From 01:00 to 06:00 on April 17, 2025, the unit continued to assign people to monitor the fire. The fire gradually extinguished itself and by 08:00 the same day, the fire was basically completely extinguished.

In the coming time, Ninh Binh Power Transmission will continue to coordinate with the authorities of Ha Nam province to propagate to people going into the forest not to spread fire, people not to burn fields... to ensure the safety corridor of the power grid.
