>>Che Cu Nha women help each other develop the economy
>> Poverty reduction in Che Cu Nha
Previously, Ho A Sung's family in De Thanh village, Che Cu Nha commune had small-scale livestock farming and relied on a few fences, so life was still difficult. The family's economy really improved when he had access to policy capital to develop the economy.
In early 2022, with a loan of 100 million VND from the district's Social Policy Bank (SPB), along with 60 million VND saved by his family, Mr. Sung boldly invested in a barn to raise 700 commercial pigeons.
According to Mr. Sung, raising pigeons is not too difficult. To raise them successfully, you must know how to choose healthy parent birds and ensure quality food. The breeding farm must always be cool, especially in the summer. When detecting unusual signs in the birds, you must treat the whole flock with medicine to limit the spread of disease.
With diligence, hard work and learning pigeon raising techniques, after more than 3 years, Mr. Sung has had an average income of 15 million per month, ensuring his family's life and escaping poverty.
Mr. Sung said: "Thanks to the preferential loans from the State, my family has money to increase production, life is better than before. In addition to paying monthly interest on time, the family also has a little money to save, and the children can have a better education."
Like Mr. Sung's family, in 2021, Mr. Ho A Cau's family in Trong Tong village was approved by the savings and loan group for a loan of 100 million VND under the job creation program. With this capital, Mr. Cau decided to invest in a black chicken farm.
Thanks to his diligence in learning experience in raising poultry, especially native black chickens, Mr. Cau now has over 1,000 chickens each year, bringing high income to his family.
Mr. Sung and Mr. Cau are two of hundreds of households that have effectively utilized preferential loans from the Bank for Social Policies of Mu Cang Chai District. As a mountainous commune of the district, Che Cu Nha has 675 households, of which over 97% are farmers, and people's lives face many difficulties. In recent years, along with investment programs and policies to support socio-economic development of the State, especially preferential loans that have been accessed and used effectively by the people, the rural appearance of this locality has improved a lot.
Comrade Giang A Ly - Chairman of the Commune People's Committee said: "When the VBSP started implementing policy credit programs in the area, Che Cu Nha commune identified the implementation of the Government 's preferential credit policies to poor households and policy beneficiaries as an important task to achieve the goal of economic development, hunger eradication and poverty reduction, improving living standards, and implementing social security in the commune. Thanks to that, from the initial 2 loan programs, up to now, the commune has implemented 11 loan programs with a total outstanding debt of nearly 22 billion VND".
In order to effectively implement preferential credit programs, every year, Che Cu Nha commune has directed departments, branches, unions, socio-political organizations, and village chiefs to promote the dissemination of the Party's policies and guidelines, the Government's preferential credit programs to the people, especially coordinating with the Social Policy Bank of Mu Cang Chai district, and entrusted organizations and unions to promptly transfer preferential credit capital to poor households, near-poor households, and other policy beneficiaries in the area.
Currently, in Che Cu Nha commune, there are 4 socio-political organizations (Farmers' Association, Women's Association, Veterans' Association and Youth Union) that have signed a trust contract with the Social Policy Bank of Mu Cang Chai district and manage 10 savings and loan groups with 408 borrowers. The total outstanding debt to date has reached nearly 22 billion VND. Credit quality has been increasingly improved, the whole commune has no overdue debt, frozen debt, borrowers use capital effectively and comply with monthly interest payments and principal repayment on time. In particular, thanks to the effective promotion of preferential loans, Che Cu Nha commune has reduced poverty quickly and sustainably, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of the locality.
