There are only 3 first prizes for excellent students in literature, the provinces of many valedictorians are "absent"

(Dan Tri) - According to statistics, the whole country only has 3 students winning first prize in the national literature subject. In particular, provinces with a tradition of high scores in this subject have no first prize.

The three candidates who won first prize in literature at the national high school competition for excellent students in the 2024-2025 school year came from Ho Chi Minh City and Thai Binh . Among them, the valedictorian with 15 points is a student at Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted (Ho Chi Minh City). Notably, this student is in grade 11.

The two candidates ranked next are from Thai Binh High School for the Gifted and High School for the Gifted, Ho Chi Minh City National University, both in grade 12, both scoring 14.75 points.

With this result, many provinces with candidates who have achieved high scores in the annual high school graduation exam did not have first prize. In particular, Nam Dinh, which has had candidates scoring 10 points in literature in the high school graduation exam for many consecutive years, this year only had 5 third prizes and 1 consolation prize in the national competition.

Bac Ninh, which once "caused a fever" with 13 valedictorians of block C00 in 2024, also stopped with 3 third prizes and 1 consolation prize.

The National High School Excellence Exam for the 2024-2025 school year will be held on December 25 and 26, 2024. There are 6,482 candidates nationwide taking the exam, an increase of 663 candidates compared to the previous school year. The number of prize-winning candidates is 3,803, accounting for 58.68%.

Candidates took the exam at 68 examination councils with 13 subjects including math, physics, chemistry, biology, information technology, literature, history, geography, English, Russian, French, Chinese, and Japanese.

According to the current regulations for selecting excellent students at the national level, the total number of consolation prizes and above must not exceed 60% of the number of contestants; the total number of first, second, and third prizes must not exceed 60% of the total number of prizes; the number of first prizes must not exceed 5% of the total number of prizes.
