Veterans Association of Binh Long Hamlet, Thanh Binh Commune: Improving the quality of activities

The Veterans Association of Binh Long Hamlet participates in environmental protection.

In recent times, the Association of War Veterans in Binh Long Hamlet has gathered and attracted war veterans to participate in the Association, creating conditions to help members and war veterans develop the economy , improve their lives, contribute with local authorities to carry out patriotic emulation movements and join hands in building new rural areas.

The Binh Long Hamlet Veterans Association currently has 45 members, maintaining regular monthly activities. During the association's meetings, each member is informed about the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; the activities of the Central, Provincial, District, and Commune Veterans Associations and the results of the association's activities.

Through the meetings, the members' thoughts and aspirations are also expressed, sharing and exchanging production and business experiences, striving to become rich legitimately, accompanying the commune in building the new rural area.

In addition, the Binh Long Hamlet Veterans Association effectively deploys and maintains the funds "Comrades", "Sympathy", revolving capital... creating conditions for members and veterans to access capital to develop and expand production and business scale.

From the fund sources combined with preferential loans from the Social Policy Bank, many activities and production and business models of members and war veterans in the branch have brought about practical results. Up to now, the branch has no more poor or near-poor members and no more temporary housing.

After being discharged from the army and returning to his hometown, veteran Tran Van Hiep, residing in Binh Long hamlet, participated in the activities of the Veterans Association of the hamlet. Mr. Hiep shared that when participating in the activities of the Veterans Association of Binh Long hamlet, he was informed about the Party's policies, the State's policies and laws, the Veterans Association at all levels and the local government in a timely manner.

At the same time, he had the opportunity to meet comrades and teammates, sharing business experiences to develop the economy. With 3 hectares of his family's land, Mr. Hiep invested in growing dragon fruit, coconut and grapefruit, bringing in an annual income of over 500 million VND.

Nguyen Van Au, Head of the Association of War Veterans in Binh Long Hamlet, said that when economic conditions are stable, each member and War Veterans Association is aware of their responsibility in joining hands with the Thanh Binh Commune government to build a new rural area, participating in and completing well the emulation movements launched by the locality.

In particular, in building the environmental landscape, the association actively cooperates with members of the Village Environmental Protection War Veterans Club to take care of and manage the roads in the area, proactively clean up the environment, plant trees and ornamental flowers along the roads, creating a brighter, greener, cleaner and more beautiful rural landscape in Binh Long Hamlet as well as Thanh Binh Commune.

With positive contributions, for 5 consecutive years, the Binh Long Hamlet Veterans Association has been evaluated by the Thanh Binh Commune Veterans Association as an excellently fulfilling branch; and has been awarded a Certificate of Merit by the People's Committee and the Cho Gao District Veterans Association. According to the comments of the Chairman of the Thanh Binh Commune Veterans Association, Tran Ngoc Dung, the Binh Long Hamlet Veterans Association is a typical branch of the Commune Veterans Association, with the rate of members participating in monthly branch activities reaching 95% or more.

The emulation movements launched by the Veterans Association at all levels were all well implemented by the Binh Long Hamlet Veterans Association. In particular, the projects and tasks registered by the Binh Long Hamlet Veterans Association to join hands in building the new rural areas were all completed according to the set plan, which were recognized and highly appreciated by the local Party Committee and government.
