On November 10, the Center for Community Legal Advice and Legal Aid for Minors (hereinafter referred to as the Center) under the Central Committee of the Vietnam Lawyers Association solemnly held the opening ceremony of its branch in Thanh Hoa . This is the 5th branch of the Center to be established and put into operation nationwide.
Attending the ceremony on behalf of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Lawyers Association were Mr. Tran Duc Long - Member of the Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice President of the Vietnam Lawyers Association; Mr. Nguyen Hong Tuyen, Member of the Standing Committee, President of the Hanoi Lawyers Association; Mr. Le Xuan Thao - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Lawyers Association Branch - Director of Invenco Company; Mr. Quan Van Minh - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Lawyers Association Branch - Director of National Law Firm No. 5, and comrades representing a number of departments, offices and units under the Central Committee of the Association.
On the side of the Center for Community Legal Advice and Legal Aid for Minors, there was Ms. Dang Thi Thanh - Director of the Center, former Deputy Chief Justice of the Criminal Court - Supreme People's Court , former Chief Justice of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Court; along with comrades in the Center's leadership and all members and collaborators of the Center.
The ceremony was also attended by invited guests: Mr. Le Thanh Hung - Deputy Chief Justice of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Court; Mr. Le Ngoc Minh - Deputy Director of Thanh Hoa Provincial Department of Justice; Ms. Pham Thi Thuy - Vice President of Thanh Hoa Provincial Women's Union; Mr. Nguyen Huu Giang - Vice President of Thanh Hoa Provincial Bar Association; and leaders representing a number of agencies and departments of Thanh Hoa province.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Dang Thi Thanh - Director of the Center said that a decade ago, according to the decision of the President of the Vietnam Lawyers Association, the Center was established with the mission of providing free legal advice and legal aid to minors, especially minors who commit crimes and minors who are victims of crimes; assigning lawyers of the Center to participate in litigation to defend and represent the rights and legitimate interests of minors; participating in organizing and implementing projects, programs, and seminars on protecting children's rights, contributing to protecting children and preventing juvenile crimes; providing free legal aid to minors. In addition, the Center also provides free legal aid to the poor and policy beneficiaries according to the law.
Over the past 10 years of operation, the members and collaborators of the Center have overcome many difficulties, united, and made efforts to closely coordinate with local sectors and agencies to "bring the light of justice to all places with the masses. Especially for women, children, families with meritorious services, single-parent families, and vulnerable people in remote, isolated areas".
In particular, in recent years, the Center has established a number of branches in localities such as Quang Binh (August 2016), Yen Bai (December 2017), Tuyen Quang (December 2019), and the Southern branch (September 2020). With the establishment of an additional branch in Thanh Hoa, the Center has formed a network of 5 branches nationwide, meeting the legal aid and consulting needs of local people.
Emphasizing that in recent years, cases involving minors have tended to increase in both quantity and complexity, Ms. Dang Thi Thanh expressed her hope that the branch in Thanh Hoa will become a reliable address for people as well as minors in the area who need legal assistance, and at the same time hopes to receive support from local authorities, law enforcement agencies and related organizations to fulfill their assigned functions and tasks, with the goal of "all for the equality and development of children".
Expressing his joy at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Duc Long - Vice President of the Vietnam Lawyers Association congratulated the leaders, officers and employees of the Center on the strong development steps in recent times and the establishment of the 5th branch in Thanh Hoa is a testament to this development.

Accordingly, after 10 years of construction and development, the Center has developed rapidly in both quantity and quality. Most of the Center and Branch staff are senior officials in the Court, Procuracy, Police, Justice, etc. with strong political will, high legal expertise, good professional experience, good health and especially enthusiasm to contribute to the development of society.
On that basis, the Vice President of the Vietnam Lawyers Association requested the Center and especially the branch in Thanh Hoa to continue to promote the spirit of initiative and responsibility, coordinate well with the Provincial Lawyers Association, Legal Consulting Centers, other agencies and departments in the province to perform well the assigned tasks, contribute more to the cause of building a socialist rule-of-law state, continue to light up the belief in justice in the social community, and gain the trust and support of the people.
On this occasion, Mr. Tran Duc Long also expressed his gratitude to the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thanh Hoa province, departments, branches, unions, political, economic and social organizations in the province for supporting and creating favorable conditions for the Center's branch to operate; at the same time, he expressed his hope that in the coming time, the Vietnam Lawyers Association, Thanh Hoa Provincial Lawyers Association and the branch will continue to receive support to operate effectively, contributing to ensuring security, socio-politics of the locality in particular and the general development of the Vietnam Lawyers Association.
At the ceremony, on behalf of the leadership of the Legal Advice Center for Minors, Ms. Dang Thi Thanh - Director of the Center presented the Decision to establish a branch and the Decision to appoint the Head of the Branch of the Center in Thanh Hoa province to Ms. Le Thi Sau - former Chief Justice of the Family and Juvenile Court, People's Court of Thanh Hoa province.

Previously, in response to Vietnam Law Day (November 9) and on the occasion of the opening of a branch in Thanh Hoa, the Center for Community Legal Advice and Legal Aid for Minors organized propaganda on the Land Law for nearly 100 subjects representing local departments and organizations in But Son Town, Hoang Hoa District.
On the same evening, the Center for Community Legal Advice and Legal Aid for Minors, the Veterans Association of the Central Agency of the Vietnam Lawyers Association also coordinated with the Veterans Business Association of Thanh Hoa province and Tien Son Thanh Hoa Group to organize the "Comradeship" exchange session.
