Overall assessment of the results in 2024, with the drastic and close direction of the Government, ministries, branches and localities have made many efforts and achieved many results in implementing national programs, plans and strategies on digital transformation, contributing to promoting socio -economic development, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of state management, improving the quality of service to the people, creating many conveniences for people and businesses in their daily life, carrying out administrative procedures and doing business and production.
The country's e- Government development ranking has increased dramatically. According to the United Nations' 2024 E-Government Survey Report, Vietnam ranked 71st out of 193 countries assessed, up 15 places compared to the 2022 assessment.
This is the first time Vietnam has been ranked in the group of e-government development index at a very high level and has risen to the highest ranking since it began participating in the United Nations assessment in 2003. Vietnam's digital economy has grown by more than 20% per year, accounting for 18.3% of GDP, making it the fastest growing country in Southeast Asia; retail e-commerce reached 25 billion USD, up 20%; non-cash payments increased by more than 50% per year. Vietnam also ranked 17/194 countries in information security, in the "Model" group. Project 06 has been effectively implemented, laying the foundation for the construction of a National Data Center in the coming time, bringing great value to many aspects of life, economy and society.
Regarding the results of the implementation of the 2024 Action Plan of the National Committee on Digital Transformation, the conclusions of the Prime Minister at the meetings of the National Committee showed that: 9/10 (90%) of the targets were completed, basically completed (of which 6 targets were completed 100% of the target, 1 target was over-fulfilled, 3 targets were completed from 80 - 92.5% of the set target). There were 44/63 (69.8%) tasks completed; 19/63 (30.2%) tasks are continuing to be implemented, about to be completed. All regular tasks were implemented with good results.
Regarding orientations and solutions for the coming time, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested ministries, branches and localities to speed up progress and improve implementation efficiency, especially in building a national database on population and connecting with other databases.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh called for the drastic participation of ministries, branches and localities to be faster, stronger, more effective and more practical to soon complete the set goals in the digital transformation process so that people can benefit more.
Based on the achieved results, the National Committee on Digital Transformation determined the theme of national digital transformation in 2025 as "Comprehensive digital transformation to develop the digital economy, creating new momentum for economic growth". With the goal of focusing on directing the comprehensive digital transformation implementation in all sectors and fields, contributing to achieving the economic growth target of 8-10% in 2025. At the same time, the theme chosen for Project 06 in 2025 is "Unlocking data potential to serve national digital transformation".
