This is shown in Resolution No. 97/NQ-CP dated June 24, 2024, thematic meeting on law making in June 2024.

Basically, the Government agrees with the contents of the draft law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Advertising.

However, it should be noted that the draft needs to clearly stipulate the specific conditions and requirements for online advertising and cross-border advertising.

At the same time, there are sanctions to prevent and remove illegal advertisements, combat tax losses, and ensure consumer rights.

The Government reminds to review and study regulations on advertising area in print and broadcast newspapers, and advertising duration on television.

Regulations on granting construction permits for advertising works and reducing administrative procedures for organizations and individuals carrying out advertising, as well as monitoring the quality and safety of advertising signs...

In particular, the content of the advertised product must be honest, accurate, in accordance with the nation's customs and traditions, not contrary to the law, especially products that affect the health of consumers such as medicine, food, etc.

The Government reminded the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to research and develop regulations on advertising for the disadvantaged, children, the elderly, people with physical and mental disabilities...

There are also administrative reforms, strengthening inspection, supervision, prevention and combat of corruption, negativity and violations of the law in this field.

The draft law must also clearly demonstrate the principles and policies to promote decentralization and delegation of power in state management between central agencies and local authorities.

At the same time, there is a mechanism to strictly inspect and monitor, prevent and combat corruption, negativity, group interests, and other violations of the law.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will preside over and coordinate with research agencies to fully absorb and explain the opinions of Government members to revise and complete the above draft.
