Between 10 PM and midnight, squid fishing boats from Ky Ninh commune, Ky Anh town, Ha Tinh province, dock at the port.

On the shore, the women and mothers waited to receive the fruits of the labor of the men in their families.

There are no tables or chairs, no electric lights; the only thing here is fresh squid. Headlamps are attached to the vendors' heads, used both to illuminate the area for customers to choose squid and to create an effect that makes the squid glisten more.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue (Tien Thang village, Ky Ninh commune) said: "The squid fishing season for local people is from April to August every year."

This is the fishing season, so locals usually fish using seine nets and direct-line fishing. The fishing area is only about 5km from the coast.

With fresh squid prices ranging from 150,000 to 350,000 VND/kg, and under favorable weather conditions, our boat can earn an average of 3-5 million VND per night."

When buying squid at Ky Ninh seafood market, many young people also bring their own spices to enjoy fresh squid right on the beach.

"After the Ky Ninh beach square came into operation, it became an ideal place for people to come and have fun, swim in the sea, and buy seafood. Recently, during the squid season, there have been many people going to the beach at night and early in the morning to buy seafood from fishermen who have just returned from their catch. The squid production from April to now in the commune has reached more than 50 tons, bringing a considerable income to the local fishermen...", said Mr. Tran Ngoc Phu - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ky Ninh commune, Ky Anh town, Ha Tinh province.
