Waiting for the 'flower feast' at Da Lat Flower Festival

Official information from the Organizing Committee of the 10th Da Lat Flower Festival said that this year's Flower Festival with the theme "Da Lat Flowers - Symphony of Colors" will be held longer than previous editions, opening on December 5 and closing on December 31 in combination with the New Year 2025 program.

As usual, at the Flower Festival, the main "character" - the flowers - will be introduced to the public and tourists to admire, which is the top concern.

Mr. Dang Quang Tu, Chairman of Da Lat City People's Committee, said that at this 10th Flower Festival, around the scenic area of ​​Xuan Huong Lake and the center of Da Lat City, public parks (Yersin, Tran Hung Dao...), Nguyen Van Cu flower area, Le Dai Hanh and Tran Quoc Toan walking routes, there will be 14 flower spaces decorated, "treating" people and tourists to a colorful flower feast, more impressive than previous Flower Festivals.

The most impressive, unique and attractive promise will be the flower space in the area opposite Quan The Am Pagoda on the shore of Xuan Huong Lake, managed by the Dalat Flower Association on an area of ​​about ^1,000m2 .

Mr. Phan Thanh Sang, Chairman of the Dalat Flower Association, said that in this area, about 20 members of the association will build an impressive fresh flower landscape, displayed for about 1 month (expected from December 4, 2024 to January 2, 2025) to serve the people and tourists. The flower space has 10 types of flowers and decorative leaves with the main 10 flower colors as follows: chrysanthemum, rose, lily, gerbera, carnation, hydrangea, dancer, phalaenopsis, sunflower, gladiolus. At the same time, many new flower varieties are combined such as Cala lily (Arum), rose, new copyrighted gerbera, primrose, fire lily, Viking begonia, lily of the valley, happiness, pumpkin, decorative leaves, colored leaves...

Beautiful flowers attract travelers

According to Mr. Sang, the flower space here has the theme "Dalat's colorful melody" with 3 main parts: The outdoor flower space is small flower landscapes, about ^800m2 in area, showing 10 different colors; the indoor flower space is displayed in a pentagonal tree house, with about 3 tree houses combined, displaying both new varieties of cut flowers from the annual copyrighted seed import project and displaying valuable potted flowers that cannot be displayed outdoors such as Phalaenopsis orchid landscapes, dancing lady orchid landscapes, Arum flower landscapes...

Colorful flowers are decorated along the flower stream, the source is a waterfall, along the stream are white gravel and will be decorated with many green areas (construction trees), there are about 1 to 2 bridges across so that visitors can stand up to take pictures, walk through the miniature landscape of flowers and decorative leaves.

In the evening, the flower space is lit up by the effect of LED lights shining on the flower surface and arranging lights on the surrounding trees for visitors to enjoy the art of light and flowers at night. In particular, each type of flower is designed with the light of that flower color so that visitors can feel the color of each type of flower, for example, red roses will use red light, with sound effects in the flower space to add more liveliness.

Mr. Dang Quang Tu added that the Central Fountain will be replaced with a new model of dancers symbolizing the UNESCO city of music (changing postures, musical instruments, and bands) with 100% social mobilization, implemented by Dalat Hasfarm Company Limited; expected to be completed and begin decoration on November 16. The existing old model will be moved to area C of Tran Quoc Toan park in a space decorated with Da Lat flowers.
