To proactively respond and minimize damage caused by heavy rain, this afternoon, May 28, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control - Search and Rescue and Civil Defense issued Official Dispatch 46/VP.PCTT on responding to heavy rain. In particular, it requested the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control - Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of districts, cities and towns; relevant agencies and units to:

Closely monitor weather warnings and forecasts to proactively prevent and have appropriate production plans, ensuring safety of people and property; maintain communication to promptly handle possible bad situations.

Direct specialized agencies to coordinate with information and communication agencies, especially the grassroots information system, to strengthen propaganda activities, disseminate instructions on skills to respond to heavy rains, floods, flash floods, landslides and localized inundation so that people know, proactively prevent, avoid, and minimize damage... People are strictly prohibited from fishing, collecting firewood... on rivers and streams during heavy rains and floods or moving into flooded areas, downstream of reservoirs.

At the same time, organize inspections and reviews of residential areas along rivers, streams, and low-lying areas, promptly detect areas at risk of insecurity, especially areas at risk of landslides, flash floods, flash floods, and deep flooding to proactively prevent and organize the relocation and evacuation of people when situations arise. Clear the flow, promptly handle construction incidents from the first hour.

Organize traffic control and guidance during floods, especially when traveling through tunnels, spillways, areas at risk of landslides, and deeply flooded areas.

Inspect, review, implement operation plans and ensure safety of reservoirs, especially small hydroelectric reservoirs and important irrigation reservoirs.

In particular, prepare forces and means to deploy rescue work when there is a situation.

Organize on-duty shifts seriously, closely monitor weather and natural disaster developments, regularly compile reports to the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control - Search and Rescue and Civil Defense.
