She said that as a member of the European Parliament (EP), she personally always supports strengthening relations between the European Union (EU) and Vietnam.
In the overall bilateral relationship, Ms. Konecna emphasized the long-standing tradition of relations between the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia and the Communist Party of Vietnam.
According to her, the two parties share the belief in building a socialist society with the specific characteristics of each nation. In addition, the President of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia-Morava affirmed the role of the Communist Party of Vietnam in the cause of national liberation, national reunification, as well as in building and defending the Vietnamese Fatherland today.
Referring to the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic, Ms. Konecna highly appreciated the community's integration into the Czech society, and also appreciated the fact that there are currently hundreds of thousands of people in Vietnam who still maintain ties with the Czech Republic. Ms. Konecna emphasized that the Communist Party of Czech-Morava supported the recognition of the Vietnamese community as an ethnic minority in the Czech Republic more than 10 years ago.
In mid-April, during a meeting with Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Duong Hoai Nam, Chairman of the Communist Party of Czech-Morava assessed that the political and diplomatic relations between the two countries have developed positively through the frequency of delegation exchanges at all levels in recent times, emphasizing that the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and the Czech Republic have been cared for, maintained and developed by the leaders of the two countries for nearly 75 years, inherited from the Czechoslovak era.
