Mr. Infantino said that Southeast Asia is a place with rich potential to develop football but violence has held the region back.

“Southeast Asian football has the potential to grow in both depth and breadth. However, it is held back by violence and other social issues.

The incident on the night of May 16 at the Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh was very unfortunate.

The team leaders should have taken measures to prevent the players from having conflicts. But they jumped in and fought with the players.

Regarding the brawl, the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) has established an investigation committee headed by police lieutenant general Amnuay Nimmano to investigate, collect evidence and propose measures to handle the individuals involved.

“The investigation committee needs to find the truth, invite witnesses, collect evidence to give a conclusion to FAT within 15 days. From there, the committee will also propose solutions and measures,” FAT said.
