Flowers of determination and faith
In the patriotic emulation movement of Vietnamese sports , there are ordinary people who possess extraordinary determination. They not only compete to win but also affirm the value of resilient Vietnamese people who dare to overcome fate.

Coach of the Women's Sepak Takraw Team Tran Thi Vui (fourth from right) and her students won the ASIAD Gold Medal after 17 years of waiting.
Sepak Takraw Coach Tran Thi Vui used to be an excellent Sepak Takraw athlete, but she had to end her career early due to injury. After that, she fell in love and devoted her entire coaching career to Sepak Takraw, a sport that is still new in Vietnam but requires hard work and a strong spirit.
"We always determine to confidently step onto the field, not afraid of any opponent. Vietnamese Sepak Takraw has its own identity and my mission is to help athletes maximize that. Throughout my years of coaching, I have constantly learned professionally, cultivated knowledge to implement and complete all assigned tasks, contributing a small part in the development and achievement of Sepak Takraw as well as the achievements of Vietnamese sports in the international arena," Coach Tran Thi Vui shared.
Unlike Ms. Vui, chess player Tran Thi Bich Thuy is a testament to the will to overcome adversity. Having suffered from a physical disability since childhood, Thuy was once thought unable to pursue sports. However, she chose chess, a sport of intelligence and courage, as a way to assert herself.
With weak hands, Thuy persistently practiced each move, diligently learned tactics, and trained her competitive mentality. Those efforts brought her to the podium of glory at the ASEAN Para Games, winning many medals for Vietnamese disabled sports.
"In the darkest moment, with the encouragement of the coaching staff and teammates, the fire inside me not only did not die out but also burned stronger. I made a bold decision, putting aside all jobs with stable income to focus completely on chess," chess player Bich Thuy shared.
Human will and aspiration for national development
Examples like Tran Thi Vui or Tran Thi Bich Thuy are not only the pride of Vietnamese sports but also a living symbol of the patriotic emulation spirit. They show that every step, every move or every smile on the training ground contributes to the spiritual strength of the nation.
Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen, Deputy Director of the Department of Physical Training and Sports, affirmed: "The achievements of Vietnamese sports in the recent period are not only the result of training but also demonstrate patriotism concretized by action. Competition in sports is a combination of human will and aspiration for national development."
According to Ms. Yen, in the period of 2021 - 2025, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism promptly rewarded hundreds of collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements, from coaches, athletes to grassroots officials and direct workers in remote, isolated and ethnic minority areas.
"Transparent and timely rewards contribute to encouraging spirit and spreading the competitive spirit throughout the industry. The prestigious medals and certificates of merit awarded by the State and the Ministry become symbols of worthy recognition, encouraging professional pride in sports workers," said Ms. Yen.
The work of commending, praising and replicating advanced models has become an important lever for the patriotic emulation movement to be closely linked with sports life, creating a strong driving force for the industry to continue to rise in the new period.
Unite to shine
Entering the 2025 - 2030 period, Vietnamese sports are facing a great opportunity to transform strongly, not only in the field of high performance but also in approach, management and training. To realize that aspiration, the cooperation of the entire industry, from management agencies to sports federations, from localities to grassroots, plays a decisive role.

The spirit of patriotic emulation is spread widely throughout the sports industry, including football.
In football, Mr. Tran Anh Tu, Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation, affirmed his determination to join hands with the Federation in the common mission: "Vietnamese sports, especially football, need to be developed systematically, taking youth training as the foundation, combining science and technology, sports medicine and digital transformation in training. This is not only a strategic direction but also the responsibility of those working in sports in the new era."
"If Vietnamese football wants to go further in the region and the world, it must stick to the long-term path, focusing on building young human resources, improving the qualifications of coaches and updating modern management methods. We cannot expect sustainable achievements without a solid foundation. Football must develop from the root, from academies, training centers, youth league systems and school programs," Mr. Tu shared.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism affirmed: "Competition is the driving force for cultural revival and sports development. With that spirit, the determination and synchronous actions of the entire industry will help Vietnamese sports continue to shine, contributing to the aspiration for sustainable national development in the new era."
Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan has just signed Decision No. 2106/QD-CTN to award the Labor Medal to 53 coaches and athletes with outstanding achievements in 2025.
Of which, 1 First Class Labor Medal was awarded to athlete K' Duong (National Youth Weightlifting) who won the world gold medal in Peru; 33 Second Class Medals were awarded to athletes and coaches of the national Weightlifting and Muay Thai teams with high achievements in Asian and world tournaments.
