The Indonesian Football Federation is focusing all its efforts on the 33rd SEA Games, determined to defend the Gold medal.

More than two weeks have passed since the sacking of Patrick Kluivert, PSSI has yet to identify a replacement coach. In a recent statement, PSSI Executive Committee member Vivin Cahyani revealed that the chosen person will be a classy name, suitable for the long-term vision and new roadmap of Indonesian football.

"The selection process cannot be rushed, it needs to be done carefully to find the most suitable coach," said Mr. Vivin, adding that PSSI currently has a more important issue to focus on, which is to focus on the U22 Indonesia team and the goal of defending the SEA Games Gold Medal.

"Currently, we are focusing all our efforts on accompanying the U22 Indonesia team at the 2025 SEA Games. PSSI is committed to providing comprehensive support and wholehearted support to coach Indra Sjafri, the coaching staff and the players. We believe that coach Sjafri's talent will bring the best results at the upcoming Southeast Asian Games in Thailand," he affirmed.

In order to best prepare for U22 Indonesia, PSSI also decided to use the upcoming FIFA Days for Sjafri and his team to train, through a number of friendly matches that are being scheduled. Meanwhile, it is uncertain whether the national team will gather this time because the new coach has not been determined, and the interim coach has not been appointed. Regarding the coaching position, another member of the PSSI Executive Committee, Khairul Anwar, denied the information that 10 members of PSSI agreed to reappoint coach Shin Tae-yong. "This is completely untrue," he emphasized.

Currently, the 33rd SEA Games is a topic of great interest in the country of thousands of islands. Recently, former midfielder of the Indonesian national team, Atep, affirmed that U22 Indonesia is capable of defending the Gold medal thanks to the talent, determination and above all, the experience of Coach Sjafri, who led U23 Indonesia to victory at the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia.
