Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Council Nguyen Duc Dung visited and worked in Sekong province

On the morning of April 9, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Nam province Nguyen Duc Dung and his delegation visited and worked with the leaders of Sekong province (Laos). Here, Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Governor of Sekong province Lech-lay Si-vi-lay welcomed the delegation.

The delegation included Mr. Nguyen Manh Ha, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee; Mr. Tran Anh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and officials from relevant agencies and units.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Sekong Province, Lech-lay Si-vi-lay, was delighted that the delegation from Quang Nam Province visited and worked right on the occasion of the Lao traditional New Year. This further strengthens the close and lasting relationship between the two countries in general and the two provinces in particular. Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Sekong Province, Lech-lay Si-vi-lay, informed that although there are still many difficulties, Sekong's economy will develop strongly in 2024, people's income will increase, and infrastructure will be gradually invested and completed.

A few days ago, former Chairman of the Central Committee of the Party, formerPresident of the Lao PDR Khamtay Siphandon, a veteran revolutionary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, passed away due to old age. On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Nam province, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Duc Dung sent his deepest condolences to the Party Committee, Government and People of Sekong province in particular and the Party, State and People of Laos in general. Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Duc Dung also informed about the socio-economic situation of the province in 2024, the goals of striving, attracting investment, and building traffic infrastructure in the border area between the two provinces that have been vigorously implemented.

On the occasion of the Lao people preparing to celebrate the traditional Lao New Year Bunpimay, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Nam province Nguyen Duc Dung wished the leaders, all cadres, soldiers and people of the twinned province of Se Kong a warm, united and victorious new year. Wishing Se Kong province to overcome all difficulties, develop more and more strongly, and stand side by side with Quang Nam to foster the special relationship between the Party, State and the two peoples.

On this occasion, Quang Nam province presented many traditional New Year gifts to Lao tribes, donated nearly 1 billion VND to support social security, and helped households whose houses were damaged by fire to build new houses.

Previously, on the evening of April 8, the Quang Nam Provincial Delegation held a reception to celebrate the Bunpinmay New Year to the leaders of Champa Sac Province. The ceremony took place in a warm and joyful atmosphere, with the leaders performing the hand-tying ceremony, wishing everyone the best, and wishing the close bond between the people of the two countries to become increasingly stronger.
