President Ho Chi Minh , the soul of the Vietnamese revolution, sacrificed his whole life for the cause of liberation of the Vietnamese people.

This was the affirmation of Ms. Poldi Sosa Schmidt, President of the Argentina - Vietnam Cultural Institute (ICAV), in a conversation with a reporter from the Vietnam News Agency in Buenos Aires on the occasion of the 134th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1980 - May 19, 2024).

Feeling sad and emotional when talking about the life of President Ho Chi Minh, Ms. Poldi Sosa, now 80 years old, recalled that since her first visit to Vietnam in 1997, she has visited Vietnam 26 times and in all her visits to Hanoi , she visited the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.

In the end of her memoirs, she wrote, "Ho Chi Minh and the Vietnamese people played an extremely important role in my life."

Ms. Poldi Sosa emphasized that she was extremely impressed and moved by his extraordinary efforts. He traveled to many places in the world , worked hard, and experienced the working life of the working class.

He studied and approached progressive revolutionary ideology, thereby finding the most suitable path to liberate the Vietnamese people from the yoke of French colonial rule. What President Ho Chi Minh contributed to Vietnam and humanity is truly wonderful.

President Ho Chi Minh actively participated in political and social activities in France, especially in Paris. He also wrote articles denouncing the colonial regime and the harsh domination of the French towards the people of the colonies. President Ho Chi Minh participated in founding the French Communist Party in December 1920. President Ho Chi Minh was not only a great patriot but also an outstanding soldier in the international communist movement and the national liberation movement of the 20th century.

Standing in front of the picture of President Ho Chi Minh solemnly hung in the house where she lived, Ms. Poldi Sosa recounted that as a representative of Indochina in the French Communist Party, President Ho Chi Minh always took full advantage of every forum to call for the attention and support of communists in the "home country" for the liberation movement in the colonies.

Ms. Poldi Sosa recounted a very interesting story that happened in January 1924 when Uncle Ho went to Moscow to visit and mourn Lenin. In the freezing cold of -30 degrees Celsius in the Russian winter, a member of the Argentine Communist Party, Mr. Miguel Contreras, also stood in line to pay his respects to Lenin, next to a young Vietnamese man, Nguyen Ai Quoc. The two Communist Party members got to know each other.

In later articles, Mr. Contreras recounted that at that time President Ho Chi Minh asked him a lot about the country and people of Argentina, and that President Ho Chi Minh was a very special and talented person. During his years of working in Europe, President Ho Chi Minh kept in touch with his Argentine friend, Contreras.

President Ho Chi Minh's contributions are invaluable assets to the Vietnamese revolution and the world revolution.

Under the leadership of the Communist Party and President Ho Chi Minh, the Vietnamese people won a resounding victory in the August Revolution, establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam; won victory in the resistance wars against France and the US, completely liberating the South, and unifying the country.
