On this occasion, VNA reporters in Vientiane interviewed the President of the Central Committee of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association, Academician, Professor, Doctor Boviengkham Vongdara, about the significance of the Lao leaders using very solemn reception ceremonies for the Chairman of the National Assembly and the Vietnamese delegation, as well as his assessment of the contents that the leaders of the two countries discussed during the visit. The following is the content of the interview: Dear Doctor, although the visit and work in Laos by National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue this time is not official, the Lao side has given the delegation very solemn reception ceremonies. Why is it so special, sir? As an individual and as President of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association, I am very pleased and would like to congratulate the visit, work and attendance at the first Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam (CLV) National Assembly Summit of Comrade Vuong Dinh Hue, Politburo member, Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly. This is an important and extremely meaningful event for fostering and developing solidarity among the three countries. The Lao leaders have warm feelings and attach special importance to the visit and work of President Vuong Dinh Hue, welcoming him as an official visit for several reasons. Firstly, comrade Vuong Dinh Hue is one of the four highest leaders of the brotherly country of Vietnam. Secondly, it is to show the respect and affection of the Lao leaders for comrade Vuong Dinh Hue personally. Thirdly, the Lao leaders attach great importance to this first CLV National Assembly Summit, so they highly appreciate comrade Vuong Dinh Hue's decision to attend the Conference. Fourthly, and most importantly, this is the tradition of our two countries. Whenever we meet, we are always very happy. Every time we meet, we especially respect and cherish each other because Laos and Vietnam are brothers, with a special relationship and solidarity founded and cultivated by the great President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane, and beloved President Souphanouvong. Therefore, this visit and work in Laos by Comrade Vuong Dinh Hue will contribute to fostering the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam, Vietnam and Laos. Doctor, how do you evaluate the contents of the exchange between National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and Lao leaders during this visit and work? During his trip to Laos, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue not only attended the first Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam National Assembly Summit, but also visited and worked in Laos. Therefore, after arriving in Laos, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue met with General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith; held talks with Lao National Assembly Chairman Xaysomphone Phomvihane and met with Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone. During the above meetings and talks, the two sides discussed the cooperative relationship between the two countries, assessed the cooperation process between the two countries in the fields of politics, economics, national defense and security, culture - society and other fields. The visit and work in Laos by National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue this time also coincided with the occasion of the Lao Party, Government and people celebrating the 48th anniversary of the founding of the Lao PDR (December 2, 1975 - December 2, 2023), so the two sides discussed many important issues. On behalf of the Central Committee of the Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association and myself, I highly appreciate the contents that the leaders of the two countries discussed during this visit and work of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.
