The National Assembly Chairman chaired the preparatory meeting for the Forum on law-making.

At the meeting, the Organizing Committee listened to agencies report on the progress of preparations for the Forum; reviewed and commented on the work that needs to continue to be implemented to ensure the successful organization of the National Assembly 's first Forum on law-making.

Delegates agreed that the Forum will be held on November 22, with the theme: "Improving institutions and laws to meet the requirements of national development in the new era". The Forum aims to exchange, discuss and comprehensively evaluate the work of law-making since the beginning of the 15th National Assembly's term up to now, focusing on the implementation of innovation in thinking and orientation of law-making in the recent past; evaluate outstanding results in the legislative work of the National Assembly, draw lessons and good practices to continue to promote and replicate; at the same time, summarize theory and practice to propose solutions to continue to improve the effectiveness of the National Assembly's legislative activities in the coming time, contributing to perfecting the institution for rapid and sustainable development.

Concluding the session, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man highly appreciated the fact that the Standing Committee of the National Assembly's Committee on Law and Justice proactively coordinated with the National Assembly Office to deploy many assigned tasks to organize the Forum, while simultaneously having to carry out many tasks to serve the 10th Session of the 15th National Assembly.

From the recent practice of law-making activities of the National Assembly, the Chairman of the National Assembly stated that the National Assembly "must play the right role and know its lesson". The forum must emphasize the innovation of the National Assembly's thinking in law-making in recent times, clearly point out what has been done, what has not been done and propose continued innovation in law-making work in the coming time.

Emphasizing that this is the first time the National Assembly has organized a Forum on law-making, therefore the requirement is to ensure progress and quality, practicality, economy, efficiency, avoid formality and promptly report to the Forum Organizing Committee to resolve problems during the implementation process, the National Assembly Chairman pointed out that the Forum contributes to improving the quality of legislative work, promptly removing difficulties and problems for businesses and people; improving the quality and longevity of laws and resolutions, ensuring that the laws and resolutions issued will immediately come into life.
