On the morning of September 23, in Dhaka (Bangladesh), National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue visited Beximco Group - Bangladesh's leading multi-industry corporation that is cooperating with Vietnam in the fields of fiber import and pharmaceutical distribution.
At the working session of the National Assembly Chairman , the leader of Beximco Group said that Beximco was established in 1976 and has now become the largest pharmaceutical company in Bangladesh, and is also the only company in Bangladesh that is allowed to export products to the US market.

Speaking at the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue expressed his pleasure to visit Beximco and witness the development of a typical Bangladeshi enterprise.
Referring to the group's two main areas of operation in pharmaceuticals and textiles, the National Assembly Chairman stated that these are also two areas of strength for Bangladesh and Vietnam, and two areas in which both sides can strengthen cooperation in the coming time.
The National Assembly Chairman appreciated the fact that Beximco has a number of products that will be exported to the Vietnamese market - a market of 100 million people and can also expand to the ASEAN market of 650 million people.
The National Assembly Chairman emphasized that healthcare and public health care are areas that Vietnam pays great attention to and encourages; in particular, healthcare projects, products and solutions are increasingly important in the post-Covid-19 pandemic context. Research projects, production of pharmaceutical ingredients, application of technology to produce medicines, etc. are industries that receive special investment incentives.

Recently, the Vietnamese National Assembly passed the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment (amended) with many new and breakthrough policies to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, creating a legal basis for activities in the health sector; in particular, it has added regulations on medical financial mechanisms, giving autonomy to hospitals to purchase and sell drugs and medical equipment.
The Vietnamese National Assembly also issued Resolution 80 of 2023 on continuing to implement a number of policies in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic and the use of drug and pharmaceutical ingredient registration certificates. Accordingly, it allows the extension of the validity of 14,000 drug and pharmaceutical ingredient registration certificates, creating favorable conditions for businesses in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Currently, the National Assembly and agencies are also studying amendments to the Pharmacy Law, researching and developing a law on medical equipment... to further perfect the legal framework for the health sector.
The National Assembly Chairman also said that Vietnam has produced most of the medicine for the people and is focusing on producing medicine to prevent and control fever and veterinary medicine to serve domestic needs, but raw materials still have to be imported from abroad. Therefore, the National Assembly Chairman suggested that Beximco could research and coordinate with partners in Vietnam in this field, and could build a joint venture factory right in Vietnam.
The leaders of Beximco Group thanked the National Assembly Chairman for taking the time to visit the group's headquarters and said they would study and implement the National Assembly Chairman's cooperation suggestions, pledging to effectively carry out cooperation activities with Vietnam.
This is also the last activity of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly during their official visit to Bangladesh . After that, the National Assembly Chairman and his delegation will leave for an official visit to Bulgaria from September 23 to 26.
