Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee requests retirement

Mr. Nghia, 59 years old, will retire from February 15, according to his personal wishes, the decision was announced at a conference organized by the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee.

At the conference, Mr. Nghia said that he asked for early retirement to create conditions for the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus. Mr. Nghia is from Lap Vo district, has a master's degree in economics , and has held the positions of: Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, Secretary of the Thap Muoi District Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee, Vice Chairman of the Dong Thap People's Committee, and was later elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee in December 2020.

At the end of 2022, Mr. Nghia was disciplined by the Central Inspection Committee for his involvement in violations in bidding and procurement for epidemic prevention and control work.

Mr. Le Quoc Phong, Secretary of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee, assessed that during his 33 years working in many units, Mr. Nghia had a sense of responsibility for his work, made great efforts to complete his tasks, and was recognized and trusted with many important responsibilities.

"One thing that stands out is that Comrade Thien Nghia has a very high sense of responsibility. When a problem arises, he has a sense of responsibility as a leader and manager," Mr. Phong emphasized.
