BHG - On the afternoon of April 6, the National Traffic Safety Committee held a national online conference to review the work of ensuring traffic safety and order (TTATGT) in the first quarter and deploy tasks for the second quarter. Comrade Tran Luu Quang, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister , Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee chaired the conference. Attending the conference at the provincial bridge were Comrade Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee; leaders of departments and branches.
In the first quarter, with the strong direction of the Government and the active participation of ministries, branches and localities, the traffic safety situation was basically ensured. Traffic accidents were controlled and reduced in all three criteria compared to the same period in 2022, of which: The number of traffic accidents decreased by 15.43%, the number of deaths decreased by 15.23%, the number of injuries decreased by 8.57%. The traffic safety situation during the Lunar New Year was ensured; the number of traffic jams during peak periods decreased after the implementation of non-stop toll collection nationwide; the situation of overloaded vehicles in localities was basically handled. All levels and branches promoted the dissemination and popularization of traffic safety laws in many forms; Traffic police inspected and handled over 750,000 cases of traffic safety violations, imposed fines of over VND1,400 billion, revoked 139,000 driving licenses and professional certificates, and detained nearly 225,000 vehicles of all kinds. Investment, construction, management, and exploitation of traffic infrastructure were focused on.

In the province, in the first quarter, there were 4 traffic accidents, killing 4 people and injuring 1 person; functional forces in the whole province inspected and handled 6,855 violations, collecting over 3.9 billion VND for the State Treasury; propaganda, disseminationand education of traffic safety laws were regularly and synchronously deployed by all levels and sectors; traffic infrastructure was invested and renovated.
At the conference, delegates focused on discussing the causes of some serious traffic accidents; violations of road traffic safety corridors; violations in vehicle registration; traffic rescue and relief work; inspection and examination of training, testing, and issuance of driving licenses; penalties for drivers with alcohol levels; and solutions to reduce the 3 criteria of traffic accidents in the second quarter.
Concluding the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang highly appreciated the efforts of ministries, branches and localities in ensuring traffic safety, especially the sharp decrease in traffic accidents in all three criteria. Regarding the tasks in the coming time, the Deputy Prime Minister requested all levels and branches to focus on a number of key tasks: Strengthening inspection, patrolling, controlling, and drastically handling violations of traffic safety; enhancing coordination between levels, branches and forces in performing the task of ensuring traffic safety; promoting and improving the effectiveness of propaganda in various forms, raising awareness and sense of compliance with traffic safety laws for people; building and replicating effective traffic safety models suitable to the actual conditions of each locality; provinces and cities pay attention to and resolutely direct the synchronous implementation of solutions to ensure traffic safety.
