Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee as head of anti-counterfeit and anti-smuggling task force

In addition to directing the implementation of the peak campaign against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and goods infringing on intellectual property, the working group will inspect and recommend handling of organizations and individuals who are irresponsible, negative, lax in management, and abetting violations.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just decided to establish a Working Group on the peak of the fight to prevent and repel crimes of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights.

The working group is headed by Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc. The deputy head of the working group includes members of the Ho Chi Minh City Steering Committee 389, including Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Bui Ta Hoang Vu, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department Mai Hoang, Deputy Commander of the City Border Guard Truong Minh Tuan, and Deputy Director of the Customs Sub-Department of Region II Do Thanh Quang.

The working group also includes directors of relevant departments such as the Department of Finance, Department of Agriculture and Environment, Department of Culture and Sports, Department of Food Safety and leaders of agencies and units.

Accordingly, the working group will direct, inspect and urge departments, branches and functional forces to implement the Prime Minister 's telegram on launching a peak campaign against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, goods infringing intellectual property rights and the Central Government's directives on fighting smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.

At the same time, the working group will direct the inspection and propose handling of organizations and individuals who are irresponsible, negative, lax in management, assist in smuggling, trade fraud, production and trade of counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights.

End smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods

Previously, on May 15, the Prime Minister sent a telegram to agencies, units, and localities to launch a peak campaign to fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights.

According to the dispatch, in recent times, ministries, branches, localities and functional forces have made many efforts, but the situation of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and goods infringing intellectual property rights is still complicated, wide-ranging, involving many subjects, affecting people's health and trust, causing confusion and anxiety in public opinion...

Therefore, the Prime Minister requested to launch a high-level attack to fight against and repel crimes of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, copyright infringement, and intellectual property rights infringement nationwide.

Establish a working group headed by Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son and request ministries, departments, branches, localities and functional forces to organize implementation.
