(GLO)- On the morning of May 16, in Duc Co district, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Gia Lai province held a meeting to discuss the reception, memorial service and burial of the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Cambodia during different periods, searched for and gathered by Team K52 (Provincial Military Command) for burial at Duc Co Martyrs Cemetery.

It is known that in the 2022-2023 dry season, Team K52 continues to be assigned the task of surveying, searching for, and collecting martyrs' remains in Cambodia. Despite the hot weather, difficult transportation, and increasingly scarce information about martyrs' graves, mainly located in remote areas, with low accuracy, thanks to the attention and direction of all levels and sectors; the support and assistance of Cambodia and efforts to overcome difficulties, Team K52 has successfully completed its mission. Thereby, 22 martyrs' remains have been collected.
At the meeting, delegates contributed their opinions on the plan and implementation of receiving and organizing the memorial service, memorial service, and burial of the remains of martyrs who died in Cambodia. The expected time to receive and bury the remains of martyrs will be on May 25.
Concluding the meeting, Mr. Dang Phan Chung - Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs requested that units and localities, according to their assigned functions and tasks, need to closely coordinate with each other, proactively deploy tasks, and ensure that the work of receiving and burying the remains of martyrs who died in Cambodia and returning to Vietnam is thoughtful, solemn, dignified, and safe in all aspects.
