Preparing medical services for the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

(Chinhphu.vn) – To prepare for medical services during the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Ministry of Health has requested hospitals to review their lists of medicines, equipment, and medical supplies; and to establish professional councils to promptly handle any unforeseen situations.

On December 15th, Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan, Chairman of the National Medical Council, chaired the second meeting on medical preparations for the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The Deputy Minister stated that this is a momentous event for the country, therefore all preparations must be carried out to the fullest extent to ensure absolute safety for the 14th National Party Congress. This includes ensuring disease prevention and control; environmental sanitation; food safety; emergency medical examination and treatment; and ensuring a response to emergency situations such as disasters, chemical and biological terrorism.

As the unit assigned to provide medical services for the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management, Ministry of Health, has requested the following hospitals: Bach Mai Hospital, Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, Friendship Hospital, and Military Central Hospital 108 to develop plans for internal and surgical emergency care, allocate personnel, compile a list of members of the medical subcommittee serving the Congress; establish a professional council; and arrange equipment, medicines, medical supplies, and hospital beds… to serve the medical needs of the Party Congress.

At the meeting, Dr. Ha Anh Duc, Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management, Ministry of Health, requested hospitals to review their lists of medicines, equipment, and medical supplies to suit the new situation, and to establish a professional council to promptly handle any situations that may arise. The Ministry of Health will organize drills and inspections of locations with medical teams serving the Party Congress.

Representatives from Bach Mai Hospital stated that the hospital has established a 34-person medical team and developed emergency response plans.

Viet Duc Friendship Hospital has also set up 2 operating tables; 5 intensive care beds, 5 surgical beds; and established a team of experts including leading specialists in anesthesia and resuscitation, orthopedics, emergency medicine, etc.

Friendship Hospital, an institution with experience in providing healthcare for officials, has also established emergency teams specializing in cardiovascular, circulatory, and food safety, operating 24/7.

During the implementation process, Deputy Minister Tran Van Thuan requested that units regularly exchange, update, and connect information to ensure that medical services for the Congress proceed smoothly, effectively, and without interruption.
