The event was organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan in coordination with the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Japan and other community organizations. Participants included delegates, parents, teachers, and Vietnamese children living and studying in Japan.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Sau, Minister Counselor of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, emphasized: 2025 is a year with many significant events associated with President Ho Chi Minh – the beloved leader of the Vietnamese nation. The competition is not only an artistic activity for children, but also carries profound educational significance, contributing to nurturing the soul, character, and civic consciousness of young Vietnamese people abroad. The Minister Counselor expressed his emotion at the pure feelings, national pride, and patriotic spirit of the children expressed through each submitted artwork.

According to the organizers, the competition, launched in May 2025, targets Vietnamese and Japanese children and teenagers with the goal of helping them gain a deeper understanding of the thoughts, ethics, and style of President Ho Chi Minh ; while simultaneously fostering love for their homeland, national pride, and encouraging the development of artistic talents. With four categories including storytelling, drawing, singing, and poetry recitation, the competition has become a meaningful platform, contributing to the preservation of the Vietnamese language and cultural identity within the Vietnamese community in Japan.

This year's competition attracted nearly 100 entries from 16 prefectures and cities across Japan, spanning a wide age range from 3 to 22 years old. Elementary school students accounted for the highest proportion; drawing was the most popular entry, followed by singing, reciting poetry, and storytelling, reflecting the diverse ways in which the children expressed their feelings towards President Ho Chi Minh.
After the judging process, the Organizing Committee awarded 15 individual prizes and 2 group prizes. Among them, the Special Prize went to the youngest contestant, Trinh Anh Tu (7 years old), for his painting "Uncle Ho and the young Vietnamese children in a foreign land".
In addition to cash prizes, the organizers also awarded two round-trip air tickets between Japan and Vietnam, symbolizing a spiritual connection and providing an opportunity for the children and their families to return to their homeland.
