Responding to the call of the Central Youth Union and the Ministry of Education and Training , on the morning of September 30, at Cau Giay Secondary School (Hanoi), Tien Phong Newspaper organized the launching ceremony of the program "With Tien Phong, help you go to school" with the participation of 1,500 students from three schools: Cau Giay Secondary School, Nguyen Sieu Secondary and High School, Nguyen Viet Xuan Primary School (Cau Giay District, Hanoi).
The program aims to call on social resources to join hands to help students in mountainous areas that suffered a lot of damage after storm No. 3 and the recent historic floods. At the same time, it supports schools damaged after the storm with additional funds to repair facilities and rebuild classrooms.
At the program, teacher Pham Duc Vinh, Principal of Phuc Khanh Primary and Secondary School No. 1 (Bao Yen District, Lao Cai ) said: Storm No. 3 has caused damage to many schools in Lao Cai province in general and Bao Yen District in particular. The storm has devastated the physical facilities of the schools. The mental damage and pain of those left behind will last forever.
According to teacher Pham Duc Vinh, after the storm passed, many students suddenly became orphans, without a home, the school discussed with local authorities, mobilizing all students to stay in the dormitory to facilitate their studies. The school used functional rooms as a place for students to rest; teachers were responsible for looking after and educating the students.
Speaking at the program, journalist Phung Cong Suong, Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong newspaper and Head of the Organizing Committee, expressed his concern: The loss and pain of our compatriots in natural disasters makes each of us feel heartbroken. Many people suddenly lost everything when the storm swept through, many families were left with nothing, many children forever without the warmth of their parents.
Tien Phong Newspaper wishes to share and help those in unfortunate circumstances so that more people can have warm clothes, full meals, and safe accommodation," journalist Phung Cong Suong expressed.

Being moved while participating in the program, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Kim Chi expressed that Typhoon Yagi has passed, but the painful losses will remain forever. Those losses, those pains will never be forgotten.
52 students have passed away, unable to attend school. Thousands of schools have been unable to resume normal teaching. 17 schools have been damaged beyond repair.
In this program, the sharing and contributions are extremely meaningful, but what is more valuable is the message promoting the tradition of “mutual love”, “the whole leaf covers the torn leaf, the less torn leaf covers the more torn leaf” of the Vietnamese people. Today’s program is a meaningful message, much more valuable than lessons in books.
Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Kim Chi advised and hoped that students would be aware of sharing and sympathizing with friends in remote areas who are still lacking food and facing many difficulties and hardships. With their young age, young age doing small work, depending on their strength, students should continue to contribute and share, with the hearts of children, the hearts of innocent souls, helping friends in need.
The Deputy Minister hopes that today's message will not only stop at this ceremony, but will spread to all schools, all organizations, all businesses, and all society to accompany the education sector in carrying out very difficult and arduous tasks.
During the launching ceremony, the Organizing Committee received a lot of support, including: 14,000 personal accident insurance cards for students in mountainous areas worth 300 million VND; Tam Tai Viet Fund donated 500 million VND to support 5 schools to purchase teaching equipment in Lao Cai province; Departments of Education and Training and schools donated more than 1.1 billion VND.
According to the plan, the Organizing Committee will use the money raised in the program "With Tien Phong, help children go to school" plus the remaining nearly 2 billion VND from the program "Join hands to overcome the consequences of storm Yagi" (launched by Tien Phong newspaper since September 11) to set up savings books for orphans and children in especially difficult circumstances in localities affected by storm No. 3.
In addition, the program will give 14,000 accident insurance cards to students in mountainous provinces and provide equipment to schools affected by storms and floods to rebuild classrooms.
