Major General, Dr. Phung Thi Phu, Deputy Director of the Department of Military Training and Schools (General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army) said that in 2024, localities, units, academies and schools throughout the army have done a good job in military recruitment.
Among those results, there is a great contribution from information and propaganda work, which has helped candidates and their families better understand military academies and schools; understand the procedures, documents and regulations of the Ministry of National Defense regarding military recruitment, thereby attracting a number of candidates to register for admission and training at military academies and schools.
Major General Phung Thi Phu affirmed that in recent years, the quality of military recruitment sources has increased and the entrance scores to military academies and schools have also increased, on par with many leading universities nationwide.
Propaganda abouteducation and training in the army in general and military recruitment in particular is an important content contributing to improving the quality of recruitment work, thereby promoting the training of high-quality human resources, serving the cause of building a revolutionary, disciplined, elite and modern army.
The Party and the State always pay special attention to the army in investing in modern, state-of-the-art equipment and weapons, which also requires the training of high-quality human resources in the army to develop accordingly to meet the requirements of the task of building the army. Therefore, one of the top priorities is to improve the quality of human resource training.
“This task falls on the shoulders of military recruitment. We must recruit high-quality input sources to create the premise to meet the requirements of training high-quality human resources. We need to select a number of candidates who meet the standards of political qualities, culture, health, and age. This is a huge source of human resources to supplement the team of high-quality officers, serving long-term in the army,” Major General Phung Thi Phu emphasized.
The Deputy Director of the Military Training Department - School affirmed that doing a good job in criminal recruitment also contributes to strengthening the trust of all classes of people, candidates, and candidates' families in the training environment in the Army, while continuing to spread the beautiful image of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers", increasing the effectiveness and maintaining stability in military recruitment in 2025 and the following years.
According to information from the Military Admissions Board of the Ministry of National Defense, in 2025, regarding military university admissions, there will be 17 academies and officer schools recruiting more than 4,200 targets for training university-level platoon-level officers.
Regarding military college admissions, there are 4 officer schools and colleges assigned to enroll 150 students to train technical and professional staff.
The Air Force Officer School enrolls students at both university and college levels.
In 2025, military schools will implement 3 admission methods. Method 1: Direct admission, priority admission according to the university admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, regulations of the Ministry of National Defense. Method 2: Admission based on the results of the competency assessment exam organized by Hanoi National University and Ho Chi Minh City National University in 2025. Method 3: Admission based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam.
The total number of qualified applications for admission to 20 military academies and schools is 33,205, an increase of nearly 42% compared to 2024 (in 2024, an increase of 61% compared to 2023).
Schools with a high number of applications for admission are the Political Officer School, Military Technical Academy, Border Guard Academy, and Military Medical Academy.
There are 4 schools that recruit female military candidates, including the Military Technical Academy, the Military Science Academy, the Logistics Academy, and the Military Medical Academy.
For direct admission and priority admission, military schools conduct direct admission for candidates according to regulations in Article 8 of university admission regulations.
Candidates register for admission based on the results of the competency assessment exam and submit the application for converting foreign language scores and application for bonus points to the school to submit the preliminary application according to the instructions of the school receiving the preliminary application.
Candidates register for admission based on the results of the 2025 High School Graduation Exam according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
