The solo program “Traveling with Satie”, specially designed for the French Institute in Vietnam, will introduce many classical masterpieces, with the highlight being the works of one of the greatest French composers of all time, Erik Satie.

His most famous and beloved works will be performed alongside other masterpieces from different styles, cultures and eras.

The works in the program are arranged like a mirror, inviting the public to take part in an exciting journey, an imaginary reunion between the great composer Erik Satie and other famous names.

David Greilsammer, in collaboration with the French Institute in Vietnam, is conducting a tour with top-notch concerts and music theory lectures with the aim of making classical music more accessible to the general public, through masterclasses at music academies in Vietnam.

A representative of the French Institute shared: “Our main purpose in organizing this tour is to create opportunities for Vietnamese classical music lovers to enjoy high-quality concerts, popularize the classical music genre which is traditionally considered scholarly, introduce French classical music to audiences who do not often have access to international performances and fulfill our social mission towards the younger generation, especially students with a talent for classical music.

Throughout his international career, and especially in the last three years, David Greilsammer has collaborated with numerous Alliances Françaises and French Institutes around the world - especially in Asia, Africa and Latin America - within the framework of social activities with the aim of sharing classical music with people of all backgrounds, ages, cultures and origins".

During his tour in Vietnam from June 18-29, he also had concerts at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, the Center for Cultural Exchange with France - l'IDECA, the Hue Academy of Music, the Hue Academy of Music Concert Hall, the Hanoi Opera House and the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra.

Recognized by the public and the media as one of the most talented French pianists of his generation, David Greilsammer is also music and artistic director of the Geneva Camerata Orchestra (Switzerland) and principal conductor of the Medellín Symphony Orchestra (Colombia).

He has collaborated and performed with many famous symphony orchestras such as BBC, San Francisco, Radio France, Tokyo Capital or Verdi Orchestra of Milan...

David Greilsammer's latest album, released by the prestigious French label Naïve, called Labyrinth , has received more than 20 international awards…
