Regarding the railway traffic jam incident through the border area of Gia Lai - Dak Lak provinces, information from Phu Khanh Railway Exploitation Branch said that, to facilitate passengers to continue their journey on the trans-Vietnam railway, this unit has contracted with a number of transport enterprises to mobilize vehicles to transport passengers from Tuy Hoa station (Dak Lak) to Dieu Tri station (Gia Lai) and vice versa.

Accordingly, from the morning of November 7 to 3:00 p.m. of the same day, Phu Khanh Railway Exploitation Branch organized the transportation of 485 passengers on trains SE1, SE3, SE5, SE7 running on the Hanoi - Saigon route and 499 passengers on trains SE2, SE4, SE6, SE8 running on the Saigon - Hanoi route.

As reported by CAND Newspaper, due to the impact of storm Kalmaegi, a railway section of more than 90km long at km 1136+850 on the trans-Vietnam railway section Van Canh - Phuoc Lanh was washed away by floodwaters to a depth of about 9m, causing a section of rail to hang in the air, leading to railway traffic congestion in this locality.
The railway sector has mobilized human resources, equipment and vehicles to the scene to focus on implementing remedial measures. However, due to the deep landslide location, the large volume of rock and soil that needs to be filled up, the complex terrain, and the remaining floodwaters, the remedial work has encountered many difficulties, but efforts are still being made to shorten the time to reopen the railway as soon as possible.
