Binh Duong Club is difficult to change

V-League is entering the final stage of its journey. Binh Dinh FC is temporarily at the second-to-last position in the rankings after 22 rounds. Meanwhile, Binh Duong FC is unlikely to achieve its goal of winning the tournament when it is 19 points behind the leading team.

Binh Duong Club is one of the teams considered to be a "grinder" of coaches. In just 6 seasons, this team has changed 12 head coaches. Many experienced strategists such as Phan Thanh Hung, Dang Tran Chinh, Lu Dinh Tuan, Nguyen Quoc Tuan, Le Huynh Duc, Hoang Anh Tuan... have not been able to realize the ambition of bringing Binh Duong football back to the top position on the V-League map.

In the context of aiming to win the 2024-2025 V-League championship, Binh Duong Club, despite recruiting a series of national players, still cannot maintain stable performance, lack cohesion when competing and become a team that has to compete for relegation. It was thought that coach Nguyen Cong Manh would bring a "new wind" to Binh Duong Club when replacing his senior Hoang Anh Tuan, but the Go Dau team still could not improve.

A series of 6 winless matches in the V-League, with only 1 point, forced coach Cong Manh to leave the "hot seat". In his place is former striker Nguyen Anh Duc - who was a "hero" when playing for Binh Duong.

However, in his first reunion with his old team in a new role, coach Anh Duc also disappointed the audience. Binh Duong Club was held to a goalless draw by Quang Nam - a team rated lower - at home in round 21.

Similar to his "predecessors", Anh Duc commented that Binh Duong Club players are physically weak and cannot guarantee their fitness to play a full match. However, what remains on the day of Anh Duc's debut for Binh Duong team at the V-League playground are comments criticizing and disparaging the role and prestige of the person in charge of the team.

After the match, many people said that coach Anh Duc was indecisive when making decisions. Specifically, striker Nguyen Tien Linh refused to be substituted twice and negotiated with the coaching staff to stay on the field.

Explaining this situation, coach Anh Duc said: "Tien Linh has just returned from injury so he is very determined and hardworking. I am both a brother and a teacher, so when the players are determined, I cannot stop them."

As a former striker, Coach Anh Duc understands the personality, psychology and emotions of a star like Tien Linh. However, the way this coach protects his students also makes many viewers disagree. They think that "leniency" affects the results of the match, solidarity and discipline - the things that make the team strong.

The 2024-2025 V-League championship is gradually moving away from Binh Duong Club and Coach Nguyen Anh Duc hopes to contribute to helping his team win the National Cup this season. The team from Thu Dau Mot has reached the semi-finals of the tournament and will face SLNA on June 26.

Binh Dinh Club at risk of being at the bottom of the table

Similar to Anh Duc, Coach Tran Minh Chien accepted to lead Binh Dinh Club at a time when the team was facing many difficulties because of the close relationship. V-League 2024-2025 is entering the final stage with tense developments, especially in the relegation race, but the martial arts team is continuously in the second to last position in the rankings.

After impressing with the runner-up position of V-League 2023-2024, Binh Dinh encountered economic difficulties and was looking for sponsors. Many good players said goodbye to the team, causing coach Bui Doan Quang Huy to fall into a situation of personnel shortage, not having a strong force to aim for high goals.

In round 22, the 0-1 defeat to Da Nang put Binh Dinh at risk of relegation. Therefore, the board of directors decided to change the coaching staff. Coach Tran Minh Chien took the "hot seat", leading Binh Dinh in the last 5 rounds with the goal of helping the team stay in the league. Meanwhile, Mr. Bui Doan Quang Huy switched to the role of Technical Director.

Mr. Tran Minh Chien used to lead Binh Duong Club and has experience in Vietnam youth teams. However, the task of helping Binh Dinh stay in the league in the last 5 matches is not simple, when his team is depleted due to injuries and poor quality foreign players.

The upcoming schedule of Binh Dinh Club is not easy, having to face a series of strong opponents such as Viettel, Thanh Hoa, Hanoi Police, Ho Chi Minh City Club and Hanoi. This team is in a "thousand pounds hanging by a thread" situation and just one more defeat can push the "martial arts" club to the bottom of the table.
