There are 4 records in the first International Tea Festival held in Vietnam

Notably, according to the Organizing Committee, there will be 4 records in this nearly 1 month long festival including: a tea making performance by 1,111 tea farmers; an original tea factory with 100 years of history; the presence of beauty queens from 80 countries and the display of 1,000 ancient tea trees hundreds of years old at the festival.

On November 11, at the 1927 Tea Factory (No. 280, Tran Phu Street, B'lao Ward - old Bao Loc City), the first event took place with an exhibition and the opening of a creative class in the fields of photography, music , painting... about this factory. This is the oldest tea factory in Vietnam with a 100-year record of still having the original machinery and equipment from the first day of establishment in 1927.

This is a program organized by Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee in coordination with Nam A Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Nam A Bank), Doi Dep Brand, Lam Dong Tea Joint Stock Company and Miss Cosmo Organization with many outstanding activities, promising to bring a cultural, economic and artistic space imbued with identity.

According to the Organizing Committee, the festival will last from November 11 to December 7 and focus on December 5 to 7 with many outstanding activities that provide a panoramic picture of tea culture and economy, gathering key and highly international activities, including: Exhibition of technology experience space on Vietnamese and international tea culture - Tea Gallery; Diplomatic tea, with the participation of 60 ambassadors of countries - Tea Connect; International tea fair and exhibition - Tea Expo; High-level conference on tea industry development strategy - Tea Summit; Street festival and tea culture - Tea Carnival; Grand music program combined with Ao Dai performance of 80 Miss Cosmo World contestants - Tea Fest; Experience the tea ecosystem growing area - Tea Travel; Cultural exchange, inspiration, start-up with university students - Tea Talk...

Mr. Mori Kazuki, General Director of Lam Dong Tea Joint Stock Company (Ladotea), said that Lam Dong province is a place blessed by nature with fertile land, where people and nature blend together, and throughout history has nurtured many rich tea varieties such as black tea, oolong tea, green tea, etc. This is truly a land known as the "tea paradise", where tea tradition and culture are still being preserved and developed.

Therefore, the festival is organized with a clear vision and mission. The vision is to connect cultures around the world through tea - to build an international platform where tea becomes a common language of peace, cooperation and sustainable development. The mission is to create a global “Tea Bridge” - where cultural exchange and economic cooperation are spread, where tea is honored as a spiritual heritage of humanity, and passed on to future generations with a spirit of respect, harmony and diversity...

According to the Organizing Committee, in addition to the central activities, there will be many sideline activities held from November 11 to December 4 such as Tea Art - Art Creation Space on Tea Culture; Gen Tea - Tea Culture and Startup Competition for university students; Tea Culture - Incense Offering and Tea Offering Ceremony "National Drink" to the National Ancestor King Hung. In particular, Gen Tea is a key competition, specially designed for students from universities across the country, a creative launch pad to arouse passion and entrepreneurial spirit from Vietnamese tea culture.

The World Tea Fest 2025 is expected to contribute to promoting and affirming the position of Vietnamese tea in the market. The festival is expected to have representatives from a number of countries with tea products from Japan, China, France, Malaysia, Thailand, etc. participating. The World Tea Fest 2025 promises to be not only a key cultural and tourism event of Lam Dong, but also an opportunity for Vietnam to affirm its position on the world tea culture map.

According to recorded documents, tea trees first appeared in Lam Dong in early 1927 by a French citizen named Romoeville and began to be planted in the Cau Dat - Da Lat area. By 1954, in Dong Nai Thuong province (part of Lam Dong province today), there were 409 large and small plantations, mostly growing tea and coffee. In 2022, Lam Dong became the largest tea granary in the country with an area of nearly 26,000 hectares, an output of more than 182,000 tons.

However, by 2025, the total tea growing area in the province will only be about 12,000 hectares of raw material area. The reason is said to be due to competitive pressure from other crops with higher economic value; because the tea industry is still focusing on raw production, not investing enough in deep processing and diversifying products to create higher value for the export market... In particular, tea production and processing enterprises still face difficulties in accessing large markets that are strict in quality and standards. Therefore, the Organizing Committee of the International Tea Festival - World Tea Fest 2025 wishes to strongly promote international trade promotion activities, expand export markets and increase the economic value of Lam Dong tea products as well as those of Vietnam...
