Golden opportunity to promote local culture and tourism

VHO - The 6th International Marathon "Mekong Delta Marathon" Hau Giang in 2025 will take place from July 5-6, at Hoa Binh Street, Ward 5, Vi Thanh City. This is a large-scale sporting event, with special significance in promoting the unique cultural and tourism image of Hau Giang to domestic and foreign friends.

The "Mekong Delta Marathon" Hau Giang 2025 is co-organized by the People's Committee of Hau Giang province.

With the theme "Shine with you", the tournament promises to bring a colorful picture of a dynamic, friendly and sustainable green Hau Giang.

With the expected participation of more than 10,000 athletes, including 2,000 children, "Mekong Delta Marathon" Hau Giang 2025 is a national-scale running tournament, open to the international community.

The competition distances include 1.2km – 2.4km – 5km – 10km – 21km half marathon and 42km marathon, suitable for many ages and fitness levels.

The tournament opens on July 5, with short-distance competitions (1.2km and 2.4km); on July 6, the remaining distances will be competed, ending with a closing ceremony and award ceremony.  

Within the framework of the “Mekong Delta Marathon”, a series of cultural, tourism and trade activities will take place from July 2-7, including: Hau Giang Trade Fair & OCOP (250 booths); cultural, tourism, book and calligraphy exhibition; Hau Giang culinary area;

“Green Route” tree planting ceremony; Eco-tours , local cultural experiences.

In particular, on this occasion, the Organizing Committee will announce the operation of the Hau Giang Province Smart Tourism System, an important step in the digital transformation process of the local tourism industry.

The “Mekong Delta Marathon” not only contributes to promoting the sports movement, especially running, but is also an opportunity for people and tourists to understand more deeply about the nature and people of Hau Giang.

Through the tournament, the province hopes to raise public awareness about climate change - an urgent issue that is strongly affecting the Mekong Delta region.

Each athlete participating in the tournament is also an ambassador, spreading the image of a friendly, dynamic, green and sustainable Hau Giang to international friends.
