Co Lung - Half term successfully completed "dual mission"

Having just completed the task of building an advanced new rural area (NTM) in 2022, Co Lung commune (Phu Luong) immediately started building a model NTM. Thanks to the right direction of the Party Committee and government, the participation of mass organizations, especially the active and proactive response of the people, the commune has basically completed the set criteria.

Co Lung commune officials visited the VietGAP chicken farming model in Doi Che hamlet.

Comrade Vu Van Cuong, Secretary of the Party Committee of Co Lung Commune, concluded: Determining that building a new rural area is a key political task of the locality, the Party Committee of the commune issued a thematic resolution at the beginning of the year, focusing on raising people's awareness of their role as the main subject. Propaganda work was promoted, "the Party's will is in line with the people's will", so during the year, the commune overcame difficulties to well implement the model new rural area criteria.

Since the beginning of the year, the commune has continued to effectively mobilize resources to upgrade and expand transport infrastructure, supplement cultural institutions and renovate and beautify rural landscapes. The commune has also focused on investing ineducation , increasing socialization to build works and purchase equipment to meet teaching and learning needs.

Along with focusing on investing in standard facilities, the quality of education in schools in the area is also increasingly improved, and educational activities are effectively implemented.

Notably, in 2023, with a total mobilized budget of over 2.8 billion VND, in addition to the budget sources of the Central, provincial and district, the commune continued to socialize to reach over 540 million VND (accounting for nearly 20% of total resources). In the process of building a model new-style rural commune, by the end of August 2023, Co Lung had no debt for basic construction.

With the view that people are the main subjects in building and enjoying the results of building a model new rural area, economic development and income improvement for people are always given special attention. Accordingly, the commune has focused on directing the transformation of the agricultural economic structure and organizing production in a modern direction.

As a result, in rural economic development, the commune maintains and develops many effective models, such as: Model of Cooperative Group for production and consumption of fish fry with a fish pond area of over 60 hectares, profit of over 3 billion VND per year; Co Lung General Business Service Cooperative (electricity business)...

Notably, the model of farmers renovating land area after manually burning bricks to grow tea branches, Dien grapefruit, and red-fleshed dragon fruit in Lang Phan hamlet continues to bring stable income to the people.

In addition, the commune has nearly 20 livestock farms; dozens of businesses and the Bo Dau traditional banh chung craft village, creating jobs for hundreds of local workers.

The above models have contributed to helping people increase their income, up to now, the average is nearly 64 million VND/person/year, the poverty rate has decreased to 0.53%.

Regarding the criteria for building a smart new-style rural area, Co Lung commune has selected and directed Lang Phan hamlet to perform this task well. Comrade Hoang Quoc Trung, Deputy Secretary of the Party Cell, Head of Lang Phan hamlet, said: With successful experience in building a model new-style rural area, the Party Cell has proactively and flexibly built a leadership resolution, directed the implementation of building a smart new-style rural area, and received active support from cadres, party members and people.

In Phan Village, we see that fiber optic Internet infrastructure and 4G/5G mobile information have covered 207/207 households. The hamlet's cultural house has free Wifi to serve the people. The hamlet has 4 digital technology groups including: Women's Union, Farmers' Union, Veterans' Union and Youth Union with 470 members actively mobilizing people to participate in digital transformation.

Basically, people of working age in Phan Village use smartphones, install and proficiently use software and digital platforms, buy and sell products on e-commerce platforms and make online payments.

The hamlet also established a Zalo group to disseminate information to residents and receive feedback and suggestions. The hamlet has 12 cameras installed at the Cultural House and at locations along the hamlet's roads, contributing to ensuring security and order in the area.

Ms. Nguyen Kim Dung, a resident of Lang Phan hamlet, said: When the hamlet started building a smart new-style rural area, people responded wholeheartedly, contributing money and labor. As elders, we encouraged our children and grandchildren to enthusiastically participate, because the more developed, civilized and modern our homeland becomes, the more people benefit.

After more than half of the implementation of the Resolution of the Commune Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term, Co Lung has completed the goal of achieving an advanced NTM commune and approaching a model NTM commune. Determining that this is a program without an end point, in the coming time, the commune will continue to improve and enhance the quality of the model NTM criteria.
