The cosmetic facility advertised on social networks using a logo that showed signs of violating the trademark of the multinational corporation Pfizer Inc., violated legal regulations when practicing, and continued to openly operate despite being temporarily suspended from operations.

On the morning of September 21, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health announced that it had just transferred the violation records of a beauty facility named Pfizers (2B - 2C Ho Xuan Huong, Vo Thi Sau Ward, District 3) to the competent authority to conduct criminal proceedings according to the law.

Previously, many people reported about scar treatment and complications at this beauty facility; at the same time, Pfizer (Vietnam) Company Limited also reported that the above facility advertised on social networks using a logo that showed signs of violating the trademark of the multinational corporation Pfizer Inc., - a multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology corporation.

After receiving the information, the Department of Health Inspectorate coordinated with the District 3 Health Department, the People's Committee of Vo Thi Sau Ward (District 3) and the Vo Thi Sau Ward Police to conduct a surprise inspection of Pfizers Business Household (2B - 2C Ho Xuan Huong, Vo Thi Sau Ward, District 3). This is a beauty facility that was granted a "PFIZERS Business Household" Registration Certificate by the People's Committee of District 3 on May 12, 2023, the business line is skin care, with Ms. TTKM as the owner.

Previously, on June 27, “Pfizers Business Household” was also administratively sanctioned by the People’s Committee of District 3 for using substances and equipment to intervene in the human body, changing the skin color of body parts and suspending the operation of the facility for a period of 4.5 months. However, this business household not only did not comply with the Decision on administrative sanction of the People’s Committee of District 3 but also deliberately re-offended the violation, continuing to advertise scar treatment, injections...

Through synthesizing the records, the Health Department Inspectorate found that this was a case of recidivism for the violation, so it transferred the entire case file to the competent authority to conduct criminal proceedings according to regulations.

In order to promptly prevent unlicensed, disguised, and clandestine establishments and strictly handle violations as well as ensure public health safety, the Department of Health requests the People's Committees of districts, towns, and Thu Duc City to direct the health department and specialized departments to strengthen the review of business licensing, noting that the registration of names of cosmetic service establishments must be carried out in accordance with legal regulations.

In addition, strengthen post-inspection after granting business registration certificates to promptly correct violations, pay attention to correcting the names of signs of cosmetic services (spraying, tattooing, skin embroidery), skin care facilities (spas), hair salons... to be consistent with the name of the facility in the business registration certificate.

Strictly handle establishments that violate the law and publicize the handling results on mass media. Resolutely do not allow the implementation of invasive techniques and cosmetic surgery at establishments without a license to operate medical examination and treatment; perform cosmetic tattooing and embroidery without a written notice of meeting the conditions for providing cosmetic services to the Department of Health according to regulations; provide cosmetic training without a certificate of vocational training in the management area.

At the same time, increase information and propaganda for local people about the health hazards of using cosmetic services at unlicensed facilities or facilities that do not meet adequate conditions so that people know and avoid them.

The Department of Health recommends that when performing invasive cosmetic services, people must choose hospitals or cosmetic clinics that have had their technical list approved by the Ministry of Health or the Department of Health and have been granted a license to operate medical examination and treatment according to regulations.
