Although most have been reprinted numerous times, the content conveyed in each page by the authors and historical figures remains just as valuable today. And I am fortunate to have in my hands one of the 25 books in this special collection. It is the memoir "The Path Following Uncle Ho" by Comrade Hoang Quoc Viet, also known as Ha Ba Cang (1905-1992). He was a revolutionary predecessor of the Party, an outstanding son of the Vietnamese nation, and one of President Ho Chi Minh 's most excellent disciples.

Comrade Hoang Quoc Viet joined the revolution in 1925, was a former Standing Committee member of the Central Committee of the Indochinese Communist Party, and a former member of the Politburo of the Vietnam Labor Party (now the Communist Party of Vietnam ). He was a staunch and courageous revolutionary activist. His memoir, "The Path Following Uncle Ho," compiled and published by the People's Army Publishing House, is 600 pages long, printed on 14 x 22.5 cm paper, and divided into two main parts titled "The Fiery Journey" and "The Path Following Uncle Ho."
With a simple and honest storytelling style, Comrade Hoang Quoc Viet recounted his revolutionary journey closely associated with President Ho Chi Minh, from his early days joining the revolution, nurturing his feelings and faith in leader Nguyen Ai Quoc - Ho Chi Minh, to his direct meetings and working sessions with him in Baise (China), as well as when he returned to the Viet Bac base area or the Tan Trao ATK...

Each page of the book takes the reader back to historical days nearly a century ago, when faith and ideals, illuminated by the journey of following Uncle Ho, became the flame of belief that guided communists steadfastly on the revolutionary path.
Readers are deeply moved by the image of the worker Hoang Quoc Viet, "returning to his lodging at night, lying among ragged workers, unable to sleep," remembering the carpenters' uprising that terrified the employers and yearning for someone to confide in. Or the journey to the South to carry out Uncle Ho's directive, and then fiercely fighting alongside the people of Saigon in the early days of the resistance in Southern Vietnam.

In particular, a large portion of the book is dedicated to the years spent alongside President Ho Chi Minh during the resistance against French colonialism, filled with countless memories of joy and sorrow. Beyond recounting historical events, the author devotes many pages to recording profound impressions of President Ho Chi Minh's lifestyle, ideology, and thoughtful concern for his comrades and compatriots. Through this, the image of Uncle Ho emerges as both simple and approachable, yet radiant with the intellect and stature of an outstanding leader.
“We have written a lot about Uncle Ho, but we still feel something is missing. It's missing because his achievements were immense, yet we haven't fully reflected them. It's missing because his ideas were profound, but our understanding is still limited, and we haven't been able to fully analyze them. But I think that we shouldn't just talk about Uncle Ho; what's important is what we have done according to his teachings. The victorious resistance war against the US, for national salvation, is a milestone that shows we have excellently implemented Uncle Ho's teaching: 'Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom.' When the whole country embarked on building socialism, we went through countless trials, explorations, failures, and successes intertwined, all aimed at the goal of a prosperous people and a strong nation,” Comrade Hoang Quoc Viet affirmed...
“The Path Following Uncle Ho” is not just the personal story of Comrade Hoang Quoc Viet, but also a vivid recreation of a historical period of the country, of a generation following the light of Ho Chi Minh. In the final pages of the book, reading the passage: “I want to stop here with these memoirs about Uncle Ho. Later, if I have the opportunity, I will continue writing about Uncle Ho during the days of building socialism and fighting against the US to save the country,” the reader still feels a longing and secretly wishes, if only Uncle Ho were present on the joyous day of great victory!
