The son of legendary Wayne Rooney impressed as Manchester United's U16s reached the final of the NI Youth Super Cup - commonly known as the Milk Cup.

At 15, Kai Rooney can play both as a winger and a striker like his father. He scored and assisted in the opening match of the MU youth team in Northern Ireland.

Kai played a starring role as United went unbeaten throughout the group stages before losing to Southampton U16s in the final.

Wayne Rooney and Coleen also came to cheer on their son in the decisive match.

Despite being on summer vacation, Kai Rooney has just been invited to participate in another international tournament with opponents three years older than him.

Rooney's son will join the MU U19 team to face the best youth teams in Europe at the Mladen Ramljak tournament in Croatia.

Receiving the good news, Kai immediately shared a photo of his house with a swimming pool with the caption: "The tournament for the under-19 age group is coming soon."

Many people have high hopes for Kai, after the eldest son of the Rooney family followed in his legendary father's footsteps, signing a contract with MU at the age of 11.
