The white buffalo named Ko Muang Phet, owned by Damrongsak Morakot in Phetchaburi province, southern Thailand, recently made headlines when it was purchased for 18 million baht (12.4 billion VND).

Renowned for its striking beauty and enormous size, this albino buffalo is known for its exceptional reproductive ability as 90% of its offspring will have albino characteristics. This means that 9 out of 10 buffalo calves will be born albino, making it a valuable asset in the buffalo farming industry.

Adding to his popularity, Ko Muang Phet also made his mark in the entertainment industry when he played Ai Khlaow's buffalo in the latest version of the popular TV series "Mon Rak Luk Thung".

Despite being only about 5 years old and standing at an impressive 180cm tall, Ko Muang Phet, an albino buffalo, has won the title of Thailand's top giant buffalo breeder, remaining undefeated in competitions for many years. However, he has withdrawn from competitions to focus on producing a new generation.

Recently, Wanasuwan Farm in Chiang Rai attracted public attention when it purchased an albino buffalo for an astonishing 18 million baht – the most expensive buffalo purchase ever at the 12th Thai Buffalo Festival Uthai Thani held last weekend.

Damrongsak explains how his passion for exploring the potential of Thailand's buffalo farming industry brought him to Ko Muang Phet.

Starting by buying and raising regular buffaloes, Damrongsak gradually built up his 9th Morakot Farm in Phetchaburi's Tha Yang district, which began generating annual profits of up to 8 million baht. His albino buffalo, Ko Muang Phet, whom he cared for and treated like a child, became the jewel of his farm.

Although it was a difficult decision to part with albino buffalo Ko Muang Phet, Damrongsak hopes his new owner will continue his legacy and contribute to the development of Thailand's albino buffalo farming industry.
