The Economic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police has just broken up a gang that bought and sold nearly 10,000 bottles of fake perfumes of famous brands Chanel, Bvlgari, YSL... worth an estimated value of more than 10 billion VND.

On June 21, Ho Chi Minh City Police announced that they had just discovered and dismantled a gang trading in fake flowers of famous brands in exceptionally large quantities.

Accordingly, resolutely implementing the directive of the Ministry of Public Security on the peak of the fight against, prevention and suppression of smuggling, trade fraud, production and trade of counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights, on June 18, Ho Chi Minh City Police continued to discover and destroy a gang trading in counterfeit goods of various famous brand perfumes led by the couple Lu Hung Phat (30 years old) and Tran Thi Bich Lien (29 years old, both residing in Binh Tan district).

Notably, the source of the fake perfume was purchased from people who smuggled Chinese goods into Vietnam. After that, Phat and his wife rented many locations in Ho Chi Minh City to hide them. At the same time, they hired 5 people to classify and package fake perfume products of many famous brands such as Chanel, Bvlgari, YSL, etc.

The gang took full advantage of applications, online groups and express delivery services to sell a particularly large amount of counterfeit goods to customers in many provinces and cities.

Implementing the plan to crack the case, many working groups of Ho Chi Minh City Police simultaneously searched 3 locations: business registration, packaging and storage. Through inspection, more than 10,000 bottles of fake perfume of various types with an estimated value (equivalent to genuine goods) of more than 10 billion VND were seized.

The Ho Chi Minh City Police Department has urgently arrested Phat and his wife and 5 related people to continue investigating the acts of trading in counterfeit goods, smuggling, tax evasion and related acts to strictly and thoroughly handle them according to the provisions of the law.

The results of the destruction of the above gang once again affirmed the determination and effectiveness of the Ho Chi Minh City Police in the peak period of attacking and suppressing smuggling and counterfeit goods crimes, contributing to maintaining security and order, protecting consumer rights and a healthy business environment.
