This morning, May 1, according to an official announcement from DJ Management, this company has reached an agreement to manage Champasak United Club. This team is playing in the highest league in Laos, the Lao Premier League.
The contract runs until the end of the 2031 season. The team will be renamed Champasak Avenir FC as part of the deal.
This is considered a historic milestone in Korean football, as it is the first time that an independent Korean club management company has officially participated in operating a team in a foreign national championship. DJ Management called it "a bold and unprecedented step".
DJ Management clearly outlined the vision behind this deal as creating a new platform to build an international playground for Korean players to have the opportunity to develop and compete.
The second is to expand the market, implement a penetration and development strategy in the potential Southeast Asian football market.

Champasak Avenir FC’s ambitions under new management are huge. The immediate goal is to compete for the Lao Premier League title. If successful, the team will qualify for prestigious continental and regional tournaments such as the AFC Challenge League and the ASEAN Club Championship.
DJ Management is also the management company for former Vietnam national team head coach Park Hang Seo. The fact that a company with close ties to both Park and Kim is making this strategic move will certainly attract great attention from Vietnamese and regional football fans.
Champasak United was established in 2008 under the name of Champasak Club. Then in 2012, when Saigon - Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank ( SHB ) of Vietnam bought this club and changed its name to SHB Champasak.
In 2015, after SHB bank ended its sponsorship, the team changed its name from SHB Champasak to IDSEA Champasak United.
