Health protection food product "Hong Hac Phuc Linh weight loss capsule" contains banned substances - Photo: Department of Food Safety
According to a report from the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Public Health , samples of the health food product "Hong Hac Phuc Linh Weight Loss Capsules" were taken at Nhat Ngan Pharmacy, Lot 13, Cho Gao Trade Center, Cho Gao District, Tien Giang. Test results showed that the product contained sibutramine, desmethylsibutramine and didesmethylsibutramine.
These are banned substances that have been banned by many countries around the world , including Vietnam, from use in weight loss support products due to the risk of causing cardiovascular disorders, strokes and many other serious side effects to health.
Information on the product label shows that this batch has the number 01022024, production date 9-2-2024, expiration date until 8-2-2027. The product is stated to be responsible for and distributed by Phu Hung Me., JSC (Hai Phong), manufactured at the HADU factory - a branch of Hadu International Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company ( Hai Duong ).
However, surprisingly, both the distributor and the manufacturer confirmed that they had nothing to do with the above product batch.
In reports sent to authorities, both the Department of Food Safety and Hygiene of Hai Phong City and Hai Duong Province said that the units named on the packaging confirmed that they did not produce or distribute this batch of goods.
This raises big questions about the true origin of the product and shows the risk of counterfeit and fake goods infiltrating the market, directly threatening people's health.

While the case is being further investigated by the authorities, the Food Safety Department recommends that people absolutely do not buy or use the product "Hong Hac Phuc Linh Weight Loss Capsules" with the above information.
If the product is discovered being sold or circulated, people are advised to immediately report it to the nearest authorities for timely handling in accordance with the law.
Adding prohibited substances such as sibutramine, desmethylsibutramine and didesmethylsibutramine to products seriously violates food safety regulations.
