Thien An Park (formerly Thuy Tien Lake Park) has an area of 49 hectares, currently belonging to the administrative boundary of Thuy Bang ward, Thuan Hoa district, Hue city.
After being renovated, the park has "put on a new coat", is more spacious, creating more highlights to attract tourists to Hue city.
According to Mr. Duong Quang Hien, Deputy Director in charge of the Green Park Center of Thuan Hoa District, to date, phase 1 of the Thien An Park construction project with a total investment of 20 billion VND has been completed.

Construction items include roads, lighting systems, and drainage. The walking and cycling path in the park is more than 2km long, running around Thuy Tien Lake, 4.5-5.5m wide; the road surface is 20cm thick concrete and paved with anti-slip granite.
Along with that, the project has also equipped a lighting system with 82 lamp posts and LED lights, water supply and drainage systems, installed trash bins, etc.
Mr. Hien said that the unit is completing documents and procedures to continue with phase 2 of the project, including the dragon waterfall, with a total investment of nearly 29 billion VND. The project will build a dome-shaped dragon waterfall, about 4m deep, next to the existing giant dragon statue.

Before being renovated and upgraded, Thien An Park was abandoned for many years, with many items severely damaged and unusable.
This amusement park has been in foreign newspapers because of its spooky, creepy appearance, especially the dragon-shaped aquarium winding between the lake and the water play area.

The playground was "transformed" after being cleaned, renovated and a new walking path was built.

Every day, many tourists come to visit Thien An park.
Thuan Hoa District Green Park Center has arranged security guards to be on duty and posted "no climbing" signs at dangerous, degraded areas that have not been renovated.

Visitors can comfortably walk around and enjoy the cool breeze in the space with both lake and ancient pine forest at Thien An.

Visitors climb to the "dragon's mouth", the highest point of the aquarium to see the whole view of Thuy Tien lake and take souvenir photos.

Tourists enjoy cycling around Thuy Tien Lake in the sunny weather.

The policy of Hue city when building Thien An park is to create a public space, serving free of charge the needs of sightseeing, experiencing, camping, organizing cultural, sports and camping activities of people and tourists, creating more highlights to attract tourists to Hue.

Thuy Tien Lake Water Park (or Thien An Park) is located at the foot of Thien An hill (Thuy Bang ward, Thuan Hoa district, Hue city), put into operation since 2004.
The park covers an area of nearly 49 hectares with many items and constructions. In the middle of the lake in the park is a giant dragon aquarium. The park has been closed and abandoned for many years due to ineffective exploitation.
The Huffington Post (USA) once had an article and ghostly pictures of this place. Since then, Thuy Tien Lake Park has attracted visitors.
In 2017, the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province (old) decided to reclaim the entire area of the project.
The land was then handed over to the old Hue city for management and exploitation.
In 2022, the government decided to renovate the public playground and tourist spot above with a budget of 20 billion VND (phase 1).
At the 8th session (July 18, 2024), the Hue City People's Council for the 2021-2026 term agreed on the investment policy for the Thien An Park construction project (phase 2) - Dragon waterfall item, with a total investment of nearly 29 billion VND.
The assets on the land, including the aquarium in the middle of Thuy Tien Lake, were auctioned to a business in Da Nang for demolition and return of the site.
However, after reaching an agreement with the business, Hue city decided not to demolish the dragon statue but to keep it, clean it up, and remove damaged items to create a highlight.
