Famous Taiwanese singer Kenji Wu recently shared a touching experience he had. While on tour across China, Kenji Wu encountered an 18-year-old boy with cerebral palsy selling goods with his mother in Hangzhou.

The male singer stopped in front of a small stall selling sausages and popcorn run by a young man named Taotao and his mother, Yao Chunhua.

Despite her mobility difficulties, Taotao was very patient while selling goods alongside her mother. Kenji Wu bought some items and offered extra money to encourage the mother and daughter, but Mrs. Yao gently refused, saying, "My daughter and I don't sell pity; we only sell sausages and popcorn."

In response to that remark, the singer immediately changed his approach to helping. He stood in front of the stall and enthusiastically invited passersby: "Anyone who wants to eat sausages or popcorn, please come here and have some for free, I'm treating everyone!"

After Mrs. Yao and her daughter finished selling their goods, Kenji Wu visited their home and helped them make popcorn.

During his three-day stay in Hangzhou, Kenji Wu announced he would give away free popcorn to anyone who came to Mrs. Yao and her daughter's stall, saying, "Let's be stronger together, let's share the warmth." Many people flocked to Mrs. Yao and her daughter's stall.

After Kenji Wu shared the story on social media, Chinese media interviewed Ms. Yao about her parenting methods. Ms. Yao said she was a single mother from a disadvantaged background, and her son did not have normal physical conditions.

She wanted her son to learn to live independently and earn a living through work that suited his physical condition as soon as possible.

"I think that when I get really old, I won't be able to take care of my children anymore. So, while I'm still healthy, I want to teach them to stand on their own two feet, and especially not to accept pity from others," Ms. Yao said.

Speaking to the media, Taotao said, "I know that when people come to buy things from my mother and me, they genuinely want to help support my family's life."
