On May 26, the Driver's License Examination and Issuance Team of the Traffic Police Department (PC08) of Ho Chi Minh City Police organized the opening ceremony of the examination for hundreds of students at Thanh Cong Driver Training and Examination Center, Nha Be District.
According to Dan Tri reporters, many students were present at the center early in the morning to attend the opening ceremony. After hearing the examination council announce the decision and instruct on the relevant procedures, the students began their exam.

After being checked by the examiners, Ms. Uyen (a student taking the driving test) went to the practical test area to receive the car.
"I registered in December 2024 and finally got to take the exam. At first, I was afraid that I would forget my lessons after studying for too long, but luckily, the center guided me to review my knowledge before the exam, so I was more confident," said Ms. Uyen.
Previously, according to PC08, during the temporary suspension of exams to transfer the task of testing and issuing driving licenses from the Department of Transport (now the Department of Construction) to the Traffic Police Department, Ho Chi Minh City still had nearly 120,000 pending cases that needed to be resolved.
Department PC08 has directed the Driver's License Examination and Issuance Team to quickly resolve the backlog and accept new registrations.

From May 20 to May 31, PC08 will coordinate with 18 driving test centers in Ho Chi Minh City to continuously test both cars and motorbikes to resolve the backlog of applications and meet the demand for new registrations.
Every day, there will be two examination councils, organizing 300 students to take the car test and 400 students to take the motorbike test. In order to facilitate the people and speed up the process of processing documents, Department PC08 organizes the examination from Monday to Sunday.
At the testing sites, the Driver's License Examination Team arranges 20 officers, soldiers, and examiners on duty. On weekends, this unit increases its force.
After 1 week of official implementation, PC08 has resolved about 4,500 backlog of driving test records. It is expected that from June, PC08 will organize more examination councils to speed up the process of resolving the number of records.
