Previously, on the evening of May 3, a technical problem occurred at the Nguyen Dynasty cannon firing simulation performance at the Hue Flag Tower area.

A series of burning fireworks fell on the area where hundreds of spectators were standing at Phu Van Lau, causing panic among many people. Fortunately, no one was injured after the incident.

According to the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, the cause of this incident was due to some unexpected technical problems such as the early installation of equipment and fireworks a day in advance. This affected the quality of the fireworks when fired, in addition to the calculation of the firing range and the zoning of the area where tourists can watch was not really thorough.

After this incident, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center sent an apology and hoped to receive sympathy from the families, residents and tourists who were affected.

“With responsibility and a spirit of learning, we have learned from experience and thoroughly reviewed all technical stages to avoid similar incidents. The Center is committed to improving the quality of organization and ensuring absolute safety for the programs that take place periodically every Saturday night, so that each experience at Hue Heritage is always a beautiful, complete and reassuring memory for the community” (excerpt from the announcement from the Hue Monuments Conservation Center posted on the center’s fanpage).
