local and many people, Buddhists from all over the country.
Continuing the sacred pilgrimage in Vietnam, from May 25 to May 28, the relics of Buddha Shakyamuni were placed at Yen Tu scenic area, considered the cradle of Truc Lam Zen sect, the first Buddhist Zen sect with Vietnamese identity founded by Buddha Emperor Tran Nhan Tong in the 13th century.
To prepare for this special religious event, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Quang Ninh Province has closely coordinated with the provincial authorities to implement the decoration and celebration plan; ensure security, order, traffic, health and rescue. Nearly 10,000 volunteers and authorities have been mobilized to guide and support people and Buddhists coming to worship.
After 4 days of solemn worship at Truc Lam Palace, Yen Tu Scenic Area welcomed more than 1 million people and Buddhist tourists from all over to sincerely worship Buddha. The event has become the largest religious activity in the scenic area, with a particularly important meaning to introduce and promote to the people and tourists about a sacred and peaceful Yen Tu, an extremely attractive cultural and spiritual address with dozens of pagodas and hundreds of towers and hermitages scattered in a large space of majestic mountains and forests. A world cultural and natural heritage is being submitted to UNESCO for recognition.
Notably, to satisfy the people's desire to worship the Buddha's relics, during the sacred pilgrimage in Vietnam, Quang Ninh is the only locality that opens its doors all night to welcome people, tourists and Buddhists to worship Buddha. The groups of people who come to worship all follow the regulations set by the organizing committee, clasp their hands in prayer, and recite sutras along the long journey with the support of volunteers, creating a touching scene in the sacred land of Buddha. Within the framework of the event, flower lantern offering ceremonies and prayers for national peace and prosperity also took place.
At the ceremony to send off the Buddha's relics to Chuong Pagoda, Hung Yen province, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha performed rituals, chanted sutras, recited Buddha's name and handed over the Buddha's relics to representatives of Hung Yen province's leaders, ensuring absolute safety, demonstrating careful preparation and a high sense of responsibility, contributing to the overall success of this event with profound spiritual meaning.
The Buddha's relics continue their journey of sacred enshrinement in Vietnam, not only demonstrating the spiritual connection between regions, but also an opportunity to spread the light of compassion and wisdom of the Buddha to the people. Monks, nuns, Buddhists and people with good fortune can continue to worship the Buddha's relics at Chuong Pagoda - an ancient pagoda, known as the most famous landscape in the North in Hung Yen province.
