Online contest to learn about Vietnamese history among workers and civil servants

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) has just issued a Plan to Organize an Online Contest "Workers, civil servants, and laborers learn about the historical traditions and patriotism of the Vietnamese people in building and defending the Fatherland".

The contest is held online, from 0:00 on October 10, 2023 to 0:00 on November 10, 2023.

The contest is organized online. Contest start time: From 0:00 on October 10, 2023 to 0:00 on November 10, 2023. Expected awarding time is from November 25 to 28, 2023.

The contest aims to effectively implement Decision No. 219/QD-TTg dated February 21, 2019 of the Prime Minister on approving the Project to support information and propaganda on ethnicity and religion; is a practical activity to welcome the 13th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union.

Through the Contest, a widespread movement is formed among cadres, union members, workers and civil servants nationwide to regularly study and learn about the history and traditions of patriotism through the ages, contributing to educating and strengthening the spirit of patriotism and national pride; thereby promoting good traditional historical values, arousing and spreading among union cadres, union members and civil servants the aspiration to work and be creative, contributing to building a prosperous and happy country in the spirit of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.

Raising awareness among cadres, union members, and employees about the historical values of patriotism, solidarity, cultural identity, and the factors that create the strong vitality and longevity of the nation through many changes of the times. Promoting those traditional values to build our country "more decent, more beautiful"...

The contest focuses on the following contents: National history, patriotism, tradition of building and defending the country, tradition of great national unity. Major milestones in history associated with dynasties, historical figures, glorious feats in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. Historical significance, causes and lessons learned from those glorious feats.

Typical examples of patriotism, consolidating and promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc in building and defending the Fatherland in the history of the nation.

Achievements in promoting the historical values of patriotism and solidarity against colonialism and imperialism in the 20th century; in building and defending the Fatherland today under the leadership of the Party.

Typical examples of patriotism in the fight against colonialism and imperialism in the past, and in building and defending the Fatherland today in all fields, including examples of trade union cadres, union members, and employees.

Criticize and combat deviant manifestations, false and hostile arguments, and illegal acts that take advantage of and use patriotism to negatively affect social order and security and people's lives, go against national and ethnic interests; deny the history and leadership role of the Party, defame leaders, and distort the role of the working class and trade unions.

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor requests provincial and municipal labor federations; central and equivalent industry trade unions, and general corporation trade unions under the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to guide affiliated trade unions at all levels to mobilize union members and employees to actively participate in the Contest; ensuring the spread and attraction of a large number of union members and employees in each industry, locality, agency, unit, and enterprise to participate.

Provinces and branches direct their affiliated Trade Unions to propagate and mobilize union officials, union members and workers under their management to participate in the Contest.
