Weekend experience with Bien Hoa pottery - Dong Nai

Bien Hoa Pottery Photo Book is a new work edited by MSc. Phan Dinh Dung, member of the Folk Arts Committee of Dong Nai Literature and Arts Association (chief editor), published by Dong Nai Publishing House in the second quarter of 2025.

The book consists of 8 chapters with 264 pages, providing an overview of the history of formation and development of ceramics, from prehistoric ceramic deposits in Dong Nai to ceramic villages in Bien Hoa, the school that shaped the Bien Hoa ceramic craft, ceramic making techniques or ceramics in typical architectural works in Dong Nai...

The special highlight of the book is the rich “image warehouse”, printed in sharp color, recording ceramic works from the past to the present, from rustic, simple to sophisticated, artistic. Each photo is like a vivid slice of history, helping readers feel the soul of Bien Hoa ceramics, both traditional and changing with the pace of modern life. The book Bien Hoa Ceramics is being introduced at Dong Nai Publishing House and the system of libraries in the province.

In addition to enjoying pottery through the pages of books, people and tourists, especially students from schools in the province, can also experience pottery at the Hien Nam handmade pottery workshop (Bien Hoa ward); or visit the pottery museum, the pottery heritage road and knead clay and shape pottery on a turntable at Dong Nai College of Decorative Arts (Tran Bien ward)... Thereby, spreading and promoting the traditional pottery craft of Dong Nai land.
