Winning both An Khe and Mang Yang passes, Savva Novikov narrowed the gap between the red jersey and Mikhail Fokin to 1 point, heating up the race for the overall mountain king title. Mikhail Fokin also defended his yellow jersey title for the racer with the least racing time after 13 stages. The difficult steep mountain pass stage also caused 56 racers to fail to complete the race on time and were disqualified. Racer Nguyen Van Binh (HCMC New Group) was among them, losing his second place in the green jersey - the sprint king.
Tomorrow (April 18), racers will compete in stage 14 from Pleiku (Gia Lai) to Buon Ma Thuot (Dak Lak) with a 179 km race route.
