Yen Tu prepares to welcome Buddha relics

Quang Ninh expects the event to attract about 1 million participants over 4 days, from May 25 to 28.

On the morning of May 23, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province coordinated with the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Quang Ninh province to hold a press conference to announce the plan to organize an event to honor Buddha's relics at Truc Lam Palace, Yen Tu historical site, Uong Bi city.

This is the first time that Buddha relics, the sacred remains left after Buddha Shakyamuni entered Nirvana, have been enshrined in Quang Ninh. The event has special spiritual, cultural and religious significance and is expected to attract about 1 million participants over 4 days, from May 25 to 28.

The relics will be solemnly carried from Phuc Son Pagoda (Tan Yen District, Bac Giang Province) to Truc Lam Yen Tu Palace, where solemn ceremonies will take place such as: the ceremony to enshrine and enshrine the Buddha's relics, the worship ceremony, the ceremony to pray for national peace and prosperity at Hoa Yen Pagoda, the thanksgiving ceremony and the sending off of the relics to Chuong Pagoda (Hung Yen City, Hung Yen Province).

Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee has mobilized all departments, branches and local authorities to prepare carefully, systematically, synchronously and seriously for this event.

Plans to ensure security, order, health , traffic, logistics and environmental sanitation are comprehensively deployed.

In particular, all activities of worshiping Buddha's relics are organized completely free of charge; drinking water and food rations will be provided free of charge.

The organizers recommend that people and visitors wear formal attire and not bring incense, flowers, or offerings into the worship area to ensure solemnity.
